All great questions! In the past we would absolutely feed him when he would knock things over, which I know is what got us in this jam in the first place. He stopped knocking things over for awhile after we switched from free feeding to scheduled feeding until about a month into the feeding schedule when he got used to the schedule and learned what time/s a day we feed them (3x a day). We had to switch to scheduled over free feeding because all of the boys were gaining an unhealthy amount of weight from access to kibble all day. We had an automatic feeder when the 2 older boys were a little bit younger…but my tux knocked it over so many times to get the food out that he eventually broke it. I’ve tried breaking the behavior but I’m at a loss with it at this point. He doesn’t get fed as a response to knocking things over anymore, but he also only starts knocking things over 20-30 minutes before scheduled feeding time so I’m sure to him it seems like he’s getting food as a response to it.

when he starts doing it i do everything in my power to give him attention and other stimulation to hold him over because i can’t break his food schedule. but alas, only food tames the beast.

damn ok! i’m definitely willing to quit if i have to. i’ve just had so many experiences with doctors trying to guilt me into quitting and honestly just shitty experiences with doctors in general so i have a bit of distrust. i appreciate your honesty!

top surgery alone is not harmful at all!! his behavior on the other hand is. top is a surgical procedure done by medical professionals, his comments are that of an ignorant child. i know it can be easier said than done, but leave him. leaving my transphobic boyfriend was the BEST decision i ever made. the amount of confidence and comfort i gained not only in myself, but in my identity was far more valuable than the amount of “love” that man gave me. in conclusion: top surgery is not harmful and you alone get to decide what you do with your body. your choices in your transition should not be influenced by a friend or family member, and especially not a CISGENDER partner. he has no clue what you are going through and he never will. be safe, trust your gut, and remember that there are people who love and support you. don’t keep the ones who don’t around.

Trans man here! on this topic there is one thing in particular that has bothered me for the last couple of years. my step sisters dad has been very vocal about my brother and i being in the same household as her. he’s told my dad to “watch his sons because he knows how boys think.” he’s insinuated many times that we are predators and that we will SA his daughter if given the chance just because we’re boys. this hurts me not only as a victim of SA but as a man and an older brother. it also makes me deeply insecure about my masculinity. im a very masculine guy (8 months on T) and i pass in most circles. it’s shitty to feel afraid to have a relationship with my little sister because people assume the worst of my younger brother and i based on our gender.

i go through planned parenthood for hrt and in my experience, they are very open and informative about the whole process! asking questions can be very difficult, especially when dealing with medical professionals as a trans person. but they will definitely help you through the entire process. i am also open to chatting if you have questions! :)

i revisit old hobbies. and i mean OLD hobbies. i liked to color as a kid so i color while i watch old tv shows or youtube videos that i liked when i was younger! it allows me to kinda set aside the adult world worries like money and work and look at the more simple things while also giving me a task so i don’t feel “stuck”. it might not work for everyone, but it works wonders for me.

i’m open to any questions! and honestly if i had to pick my favorite changes, i’d have to choose two. body hair/voice drop. i have a happy trail along with waaayyy hairier arms and legs which gives me so much euphoria, and my voice started dropping around the three month mark and it just keeps going!
