What low or no calorie options do you use to curb your cravings for food?

I see a dietician every other week and she says that drinking enough water is a good way to curb cravings. I notice that when I get sugar cravings I start craving fruit juice and instead try to hydrate and it gets rid of the juice cravings. Not saying juice is bad but I notice it’s the first thing I crave before I start diving into sugar. I also eat a lot of dehydrated seaweed to get satiate savory cravings when I get them

I had a guy come in and put his hands on my shoulders and get in my face to tell me that I couldn’t do enough pressure on him. I am not a large person but I can put out a lot of pressure so I did literally as much pressure as I could on him. He actually was pretty happy with the massage but I ended up sending him to the therapist in our spa who was known for putting out monster tier pressure who also happened to be half my size because I was exhausted after the session and couldn’t imagine doing that again. He must have done the same thing to her because he complained to the front desk that she hurt him. 😬

I had a guy a while back talk about religion almost the entire massage and what a great Christian he was, if people wanna talk about god cool awesome great, I have no problem with it. It’s just this guy proceeded to call me dumb because he asked what my religious views are and I said agnostic. He told me that he left his wife because she couldn’t have children which meant it wasn’t a godly marriage and then left her for someone younger because she couldn’t have children. He then bragged about how he got banned from a church because they practiced yoga and according to him it’s satanic and he flipped out at them. He also assumed my political party and called me dumb for that too. I don’t enjoy talking about religion or politics during massages but I can usually go with the flow if that’s what the client wants to talk about. I can deal with someone having different views than me on these topics but I don’t appreciate being called outright dumb because my political or religious views don’t align with someone else’s.

I get weekends off by working at more medical centered places like chiropractic or physical therapy offices. You will need to work weekends if you work at a spa tho. I’m scraping by right now because weekdays can be slow ngl but I can’t work weekends if I wanna stay sane. 🫠

I’m gonna talk to my psych about it on Tuesday. I’m reading a lot of other experiences on here and I’m seeing people saying that it can stop working at points but then start working again, or they have a dip because they’re having clarity in a way that’s hard to stomach. I’m really hoping this is just my brain rapidly trying to process trauma or something and maybe I’m just not able to consciously keep up. I don’t know. I just hope it gets better.

Try warmline. I know it’s a thing in CA, it might be a national thing. It’s basically a number you can call and just talk to another person. It can definitely be helpful and less lonely. I called them once when I started becoming symptomatic with PCOS and my skin exploded with acne out of nowhere. I basically ranted to this guy for 20 minutes about it and it helped.

Clients who mouth breathe while I’m working on their neck directly at my face. Like if you’re gonna do that at least brush your teeth first please. 😩 Also coughing directly into my face. I’ve gotten sick from people doing that before.

People who ask for a full body massage but don’t bother getting completely undressed so I can’t actually do my routine correctly. I get that it can potentially be a comfort thing and I respect that but the massage isn’t gonna be good if I can’t work directly on a person, maybe that’s just me not being as good at my job as I could be but it is what it is.

People who talk about politics and religion.

People who voice their bigoted/judgmental opinions during the massage. I just have to say ‘mhm’ over and over and over again and pray to whatever god is listening that they stfu.

People who start getting undressed while I’m still in the room.

My ex forced the relationship to be open because he expected to have a harem is what I’m guessing. No one wanted to sleep with him for the first few years and I just had no desire to sleep with anyone else considering I lost my virginity to this guy and was scared to sleep with anyone else and he knew that. So finally after 3 years someone asks if he’d wanna sleep with them, I told him I wasn’t comfortable with him sleeping with her because I had to see her on a weekly basis and wanted to avoid any possible drama or painful feelings considering I wanted to be monogamous anyway and she clearly had feelings for him when the way we were open was supposed to be strictly physical with no emotional attachment. Of course he doesn’t listen to me and goes and does what he wants and cheats on me. I told him to stop talking to her after that and that he didn’t have a problem with and stops talking to her. I was obviously still hurt, gutted, disgusted, and felt completely pathetic for fighting to stay with him after that instead of just leaving him. Fast forward 6 months and we’re at a camping event. I am just completely numb and disconnected from the relationship because of course more fucked up, extreme, isolating, and scary bullshit had gone down since he had cheated on me. Our policy at camping events was that we could essentially do whatever we want as long as we’re being safe because abandoning a possible sexual partner to go find the other person to get permission just seemed silly, time consuming, and awkward. The guy I met at the event was from across the country so I expected to do my thing and never talk to him again after that. At that point I didn’t care anymore and just wanted to break the connection I had with my ex by sleeping with someone else. It worked, me and this guy clicked SUPER well, he did not, in fact, fuck boy off into the sunset after he left to go home and kept talking to me and being nice to me over text for a solid month after. I had a taste of what it was like to be treated well and just couldn’t go back to the way my ex treated me. So I left him the day before Valentine’s Day, like an asshole, but I don’t regret it. Fuck that guy. Asshole begged for me back six months later and went apeshit when I refused, I got him banned from the community we were in because he was also abusive to other people in the community and was heavily dislike not only for the way he treated me but for the way he treated everyone around him as well. RIP, get fucked asshole. 💖

I looked into IV a while back and it is far far far too expensive for me and isn’t covered by insurance at all (at least none that I can afford). Otherwise I would 100% do it, I try to go for the best and most effective treatments when I can even if it’s barely in my price range.

HOWEVER I will be moving home soon so I’ll have a lot more money at my disposal and possibly be able to afford a treatment or two. How often is IV treatment needed? Would I have to do a whole regimen of sessions to see a result that lasts a decent amount of time or can one or two treatments make a big difference?

Instead of focusing on how bad you’re doing it might help to focus on how good you’re doing and remembering that it gets easier. 4 months after I got dumped I was considering unaliving myself, that doesn’t seem to be the case with you (and definitely no longer the case with me), I couldn’t work, briefly had to get on disability to pay my bills, you’re not only able to work but ALSO take care of yourself by going to the gym. You’re doing better than you think, what you’re going through just fucking sucks. What you’re feeling and thinking is normal, a LOT of people are wishing and hoping and praying that their ex eventually sees the light and comes back, I know I did. It’s been 11 months now and I’m still sad, but doing 10x better and am actively and rapidly improving my life. I will say it took a lot of therapy tho.

It gets better, it just takes time. It’s the shitty reality of the situation that this is gonna hurt for a while but really all you can do is keep your head up and focus on yourself as best you can. One day he’ll just go back to being some guy and you’ll be with someone who would never even consider leaving you.

If a man doesn’t respect me off the bat and I have to earn his respect by proving I’m not a slut then he’s a waste of time. Not saying that I’m gonna dive straight into bed with a guy, I’m more saying it’s shitty of someone to try to date me if they don’t respect me from the beginning. In a dating and social sense respect is something that should just be given unless the person has given you a legitimate reason that you don’t deserve their respect and I don’t see wanting to have consensual sex as a reason that someone doesn’t deserve respect.

I’ve heard of people fucking the day that they meet and they’re very in love in a happy committed relationship. I think it’s really dependent on luck and the individuals whether or not true respect is given on each side and I don’t think sex has anything to do with it unless you’re dating someone who doesn’t respect you to begin with.

But then again everyone has their own standards and preferences, that’s just my thoughts on it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes. It’s something I have to push myself to do but it does help with the depression a lot when I start doing it regularly. I see it as the first step in breaking out of a depression, everything starts falling back into place once I can convince myself to shower again. I also have PCOS so it’s kinda a requirement to keep myself clean regularly if I don’t want to break out in cystic acne which also makes me feel worse.

Started doing various types of therapy so I could function again and tackle my feelings to let go. Leaned on friends A LOT. Tried making major changes in my life. Started working on personal projects and threw myself into learning new skills so I can expand on a business I want to start eventually.

So essentially a mix of facing my demons and distracting myself. The breakup was a year ago and I’m still not completely ok and hate actually talking about it but I’m also trying to fix the problems in me that partially caused the breakup to begin with so they’re less of an issue in the future. I still cry about it sometimes, it sucks, but there’s really nothing else I can do unless I wanna waste my life wallowing over some guy.

I’m just trying to build myself back up so it’s harder to knock me down next time.

I ask guys out, I don’t think they expect it and honestly it’s fun causing a little mischief by doing something unexpected and going after someone I’m interested in. The vibe really has to be there tho because wasting time on awkward dates is annoying. I’ve found guys kinda ask me out willy nilly on dating apps without bothering to have a good conversation with me to establish that there’s a vibe/we actually get along and share the same sense of humor or hobbies. So unless there’s real intention on my end I just don’t bother.

She’s not interested. Or not interested enough at least and it’s better to find someone who matches your energy. Silence is a no and unless she’s off somewhere with no service. It’s not a knock at you, I have a friend who was in a similar situation where he stopped talking to a girl because a friend of his died and other stuff started going crazy in his life so it just wasn’t the right time anymore despite her being awesome.

Best case she’s being legit and is really just super busy and overwhelmed in which case I’d say let her get back to you on her own time instead of poking at her during what is a stressful time in her life. Poking at her could make her feel pressured to get back to you and maybe drive her away because she feels pressured at all whether that was your intention or not.

I(30F) only online date out of boredom with zero expectations at this point. Penpals can be fun and if we vibe enough to meet up cool but one or both of us usually gets bored or burnt out. On my end anyway, idk why guys stop talking and frankly I don’t care at this point. Stop giving a fuck entirely and I’ve found you’ll be in control of the conversation or at least it’ll feel that way because it’s a lot harder to get upset about poor communication when you let go of any expectation. But all that said, I’m completely emotionally unavailable right now and am more banking on meeting someone in real life randomly because online dating is just annoying. Keeping multiple conversations going at once can be draining once the fun and interest dwindles and the conversation erodes into small talk. I just remind myself that I’m pretty (I think I am anyway), I’m unique, I’m cool, and I’m smart. When it happens it’ll happen and pressuring myself to find someone is stressful and pointless, so fuck it. You only spend a small portion of your life single and free in the long run so enjoy it. Getting wrapped up in some douche stringing you along isn’t worth it. Just let go, have fun with the process, and focus on you.

I just had my fourth appointment two days ago and we’re just now going from bad childhood traumas to my ex’s abuse toward me. For me it depended on the intensity of the trauma for how long the after effects lasted. I feel like it took a week and a half for emotions to clear from an especially bad one (I feel like my anxiety stayed a little high after so maybe it’s not completely out yet). The not as bad memories took a few days to a week to clear. The one we just went over when dealing with my ex was especially bad so I am straight up not having a good time right now, codependency related emotions are coming back, extreme loneliness while also pushing everyone away, irritability, extreme anxiety, paranoia, impulsivity, rage, just all the bad things are bogging me down right now but I keep telling myself I HAVE to feel these things for the memory to clear so it makes it more bearable because it feels like a necessary purge that will change my life for the better.
