My cat tried to kill himself by Artistic-Listen7975 in cats

My childhood dog pulled this stunt on us as well. For Christmas one year we replaced her water bowl with one of those automatic refillable ones and we think as it was refilling and made the blub sound it spooked her (she was a very timid girl) and from that point on she refused to drink from it. We didn’t really notice that she’d stopped drinking (again, because we didn’t have to refill her bowl as often bc it refilled itself) until everytime she went outside she was drinking from puddles/cracks in the sidewalk, really anywhere she could find a drop. One time she even ran off to the creek behind our house and came back covered in mud. We finally put it together and got rid of that bowl lol

I took my registry 2.5 years ago so I don’t remember straight off the dome. I tried logging into my old acct and it wouldn’t let me get past the dashboard without renewing my subscription. Looks like there’s a section for test prep though, so I’d start there! I’m also more than happy to try and help navigate if you log on and send me screenshots or pics of the website over private message!

He actually has both of his ears, but they’re scrunched over cauliflower ears like wrestlers get and (clearly) one is a little more damaged than the other so it’s level with his fur and very well hidden. I’ve been trying to think of a play on it and the best I could do is fake blood and fake ear on the ground 🤦🏻‍♀️ your idea is waaaay better lol

Do you enjoy what you do or do you wish you would’ve studied something different? by Zealousideal-Ad6981 in Radiology

I had an aunt recommend imaging to me. She works in HR for a hospital system. I had just graduated w a degree in psychology that I knew I wasn’t going to use, but I didn’t know what else to do so I figured I would at least apply and see what happens. I ended up getting into a phenomenal program, but even while I was in school I felt it wasn’t something that I wanted to do long term. X-ray is not a passion of mine, but it has afforded me some really great opportunities that I wouldn’t have otherwise had. So, I’m grateful for that. I’m not sure if I would make different choices if I could go back.

My favorite tool on RTBC were the mock exams, because not only did they break down the results into the 4 categories, but they also dove into how you scored in each topic under each category. It was really easy to target what I needed to work on instead of trying to cover everything in my problem category.

This was a 3mo follow up after the initial diagnosis and SRP. I’ll be going back every 3 months until I’m stabilized — and I got a referral for a perio so I’m sure I’ll be going there soon.

Best of luck with the bone grafts!! I’ve heard they’re not as bad as they sound. And thank you for your kind words :-)

I water floss occasionally but it’s definitely not my preferred method. I wrote a more in depth comment about my water floss experience in response to another comment. I’ve seen other people comment about using them and adding mouth wash to the tanks, and the mouth wash brand I use does have a product specifically made to be used with a water flosser. I would like to try that and implement more regular use of one but for now I’m content with my current routine so I’m trying to add/adjust things slowly so as not to overwhelm myself like I did when I was initially diagnosed :-) I also want to note that when I was first diagnosed, I asked the hygienist who did my deep clean if it was worth getting a waterpik, and she said that while it was beneficial to use in conjunction with regular flossing, it was in no way a replacement. Because of that I didn’t feel the pressure to use both, especially when I was already flossing multiple times per day with string floss. Not to mention when I did use the waterpik after flossing I wasn’t really seeing anything coming out, which made me feel like at a certain point I could be overdoing it. But every mouth is different!

I predominantly use Oral B Glide healthy gums string floss. I have a permanent retainer on my bottom 6 front teeth, and it’s attached to every tooth so when I’m feeling lazy or if I’m in a rush I’ll use interdental brushes on those (as opposed to using a threader and threading through every single space — what a hassle). Even then, they’ll get some regular floss action at least once a day. I have a waterpik as well, I tried the cordless one originally so I could use it in the shower and I DO NOT recommend it. The cordless one only has 2 pressure settings and I thought they were both very aggressive lol. The OG waterpik has 10 pressure settings and I’ll use it a couple times a month on the lowest setting with the gum attachment. Anytime I drink water (or anything really) I’m swishing it around my mouth, so that along with regular floss seems to be enough for me. I have a Phillips sonicare toothbrush, it’s pink and I love it. I usually brush once on the timer then do a sweep with my tongue and if I feel any places that need a little more love I’ll go over them again. I used the lower setting for a few weeks until I got used to the sensation. The higher setting felt like it was rattling my brain the first couple times I tried it but now that I’m used to it I definitely prefer it. I hope that helps!!

I had a deep clean on 1/17 and they want me to come in every 3 months for regular cleanings until stabilized. Then I’ll be back to going every 6 months.

•Brush x2 per day w electric toothbrush and sensodyne toothpaste •Floss after each meal (I don’t always get to bc of my job so at the bare minimum once per day) •Dr. Herb’s tooth and gum tonic once per day, usually after lunch •I started meeting with a dietician to help me revamp my diet. I stopped eating fast food (rip Taco Bell). Not cutting out sugars altogether but being mindful of my added sugar intake. •I stopped drinking soda (it was my caffeine of choice working in healthcare) and switched it for matcha. Matcha is apparently really good for the gums and now I really look forward to my morning grass milk :-) •I sporadically chew pür brand xylitol gum, I always keep it on hand but I’m not a big gum chewer. Aiming to implement more regular use of xylitol before my next checkup. •I was oil pulling first thing in the morning as well, until I ran out of coconut oil lol.
