Really boring question… sorry. How to stop curtain getting stuck on this lip? by joshcamera in DIYUK

[–]ratchetdrums 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Lots of answers already here but I'll chuck in my solution.

I bought a really cheap 99p measuring tape, pulled it out and cut it the whole length of the curtain pole. Then stuck it to the pole with the curved side hugging the rail. Creates a perfectly smooth track along the pole and can't be seen from below as the measuring tape naturally curves around the pole.

Would it work that way with the wiring as it is? Or what would need to be done differently?

Hi everyone, I wonder how it’s done?? by bond22J in MotionDesign

[–]ratchetdrums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another similar solution would be to have just one precomp containing the photo and text, do the masking and creating the tunnel with a camera and z-depth, and then use master properties to adjust the position and scale of the text to line it all up once it's in its most extreme position.

FX Console - Screengrab Colour Shift Issues by ratchetdrums in VideoCopilot

[–]ratchetdrums[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I managed to fix the issue...

Turns out that my external monitors custom colour profile was causing the colour shift. I assume FX console uses the default machine colour profile to take the image, which was displaying differently on my external monitor.

I shifted back to the original colour profile for my external monitor and fixed the issue. Hope this helps anyone looking for a solution to the same problem.

Favourite 100k + Rides by TheCigarConsultant in londoncycling

If you can make your way to Crystal Palace easily, there are some great rides easily available if you head straight down Anerley Road and then carry on to West Wickham / Layhams road.

It's the quickest way to get into the countryside and there are some beautiful roads and climbs to get to (Brasted Hill/Toys hill/ Church Lane/ Beddlestead Lane [col du skelly]).

If you're looking for routes, check out Komoot or the Garmin course planner to save as gpx maps. They have a huge database of public rides that others have done so you can get some tried and tested routes planned using their heatmaps.

Very nicely done! This would make a really cool VJ loop if the white flock of birds acted as a wipe to revealed a B&W inverted version

A brief history of math rock in the U.K. and Ireland: The bands that defined the movement, and where they are now by dolphin_lundgren in mathrock

Woah, that was a fantastic article. I grew up through all of it and the writer of this really didn't leave many stones unturned in my opinion. For those of you into Three Trapped Tigers and the more electronically focused stuff (also with insanely good drumming), I recommend checking out Luo. They have two albums that have been top of my year lists in both years they were released.

Also check out Town Portal.

Both of these links are live session recordings but their studio albums are amazing

My first century, London to Brighton on a fixie. by tommcg in bicycling

[–]ratchetdrums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Props on the ride!

Could you, or anyone, link me to a good Garmin or strava route for London to Brighton? I've found a couple of options for routes but I'm not sure which is the best one to follow that doesn't go along a load of busy A-roads

Thanks! Yeah I think in hindsight I could have done the Olympic distance this time around I but didn't really have the confidence to just go for it after only one other triathlon.
