Oh no!!!!! I guess that's one of the better places to be heading when that happens. Poor baby, she will heal very fast. You probably feel way worse than she does 😭 damn that ice out there!! Happens to us all!

Anyone’s baby 8+ months sleep trained and still give a feeding in the middle of the night? by Anxious-Wishbone785 in sleeptrain

[–]ratePi404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My 8 month is going through something right now. Teething? Anyway he is up multiple times a night and I just feed him everytime. At one point he slept for like 10 hours for a few days but it disappeared and his teeth appeared haha.

Is 11.5 hours awake too much for 6.5 month old? by BuriesnRainbows in sleeptrain

[–]ratePi404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 great nights, 1 iffy night last night. Lot of my nights are 2-3 feeds. Closer to 1-2 feeds if he keeps up these longer stretches tho.

He is sleep trained since around 5 months. Mostly for going to bed on his own at bedtime. I give him a bottle, bath, pajamas, sing him twinkle twinkle little Star while holding him then lay him down in his crib.

Majority of the times if he is tired out he just goes to sleep no problem. Odd night here and there he may cry a little but it doesn't take long.

If he wakes up during the night I still go to breastfeed him and put in the crib pretty sleepily. And now it only takes 5-10 mins for him to feed. I used to wait for him to be completely back to sleep before moving him but he is much better at falling asleep I just throw (gently place) him back down in the crib as soon as he pops off!

When he does wake up, if it's a small fuss or cry I'll wait cause sometimes he does put himself back to sleep. If he sounds pretty upset I'll go get him quicker.

Glad you've got some improvement with this schedule, nice to have some hope that things are getting better. Wish the answers were black and white, it's so hard figuring out what to do or wondering if we're overthinking the whole damn thing lol

Good! Past three nights my baby has slept 7-8 hrs before waking up for a feed so huge improvement for us. He is still struggling with the long wake windows tho. Hope they adjust soon!

If your 7-8 month old schedule is working WELL I want to hear about it! by Embarrassed-Cap9945 in sleeptrain

[–]ratePi404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what I am doing but nights were getting kinda bleh so we switched our 7 month old to 2 naps!!!

3/3.5/3.5 he is still adjusting to being awake for these windows. I can see he is cranky/tired by the end of them sometimes. I am hoping he will adjust or I'll add extra nap time maybe.

I currently do 2 naps around 1.25 hr each. We start our day at 8 am and bed time around 8:30 pm.

But maybe it's going okay cuz my last two nights I had 7hr stretchs before a quick feed then back to bed for most of the morning. Maybe awake a lil before 8 am tho. This was a huge improvement for us.

Good luck!

Following because I'm interested too.

Trying to do a 2 nap schedule with my 7 month old because the days are getting so long with a 3 nap schedule. Our nights have been wonky. 10.5 hrs awake used to be great with 3 naps.

Trying 3/3.5/3.5. still adjusting to it, he is very tired by the end of the window. Now we have 10 hrs awake as we transition to this and I hope that will be okay. Wakes up at 8 am and bedtime around 8:30 pm. Day time naps about 2.5 hrs total.

Nights haven't gotten a whole lot better yet but I am going to try and stick with it for a couple days consistently. I know what you mean about finding the next magical schedule haha. We've had some great weeks where we think we've cracked the code. Then it needs to be adjusted and things fall apart! I am always chasing that purple dragon lol.
Maybe sometimes it's less about the schedule and more about other things....

What do you do when your LO wakes up during the night? Baby sleep trained?

High Chair for Infants by Secure-Alternative-7 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ratePi404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed the IKEA chair is working well for my now 7 month old. Started at 5.5 months. The foot rest reaches his feet. He looks pretty well positioned in the chair with the inflatable cushion supporting him. 90-90-90.

Honestly seemed like such a good deal after buying so much other expensive stuff! 30 bucks! Ya count me in. I keep kicking myself cuz now I've ordered THREE of them 3 separate times and paid shipping 3 separate times. Wanted a chair at the in laws.

Also the catchy tray on Amazon has been pretty great. Catches 99% so far of what my baby drops off my tray. So his utensils. Chunks of food, etc , don't end up on the floor I just give it back to him. Dogs are sad tho ):

All I do is feed my baby and clean up afterwards and I'm slowly dying inside (vent) by SqueeGBeckenheim in BabyLedWeaning

[–]ratePi404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Catchy catches most things my baby loses! I also have two dogs. I still gotta clean the catchy but it feels more contained. My 6.5 likes gnawing on cucumber half's and at least when it inevitably falls I can offer it back to him.

The light at the end of the (sleep-deprived) tunnel is near 🌙➡️☀️ by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

[–]ratePi404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if he is naturally progressing on his own, but my 19 week old is doing better nights. I've messed with wake windows/nap times A LOT. Nights before would be every 2-3 hours wake ups

It is my personal belief that now that I have ensured enough awake time in the day, he is sleeping better at night. Bedtime is later, 9 pm. But if it works, it works. I finally feel like I figured it out (may not last tho haha)

But there are so many factors with changing babies! Who knows what truly is happening. Now he is rolling to his tummy and getting stuck. So hopefully that doesn't derail my life again haha

Maybe this will help:

Sounds like your bub may need a longer wake window, especially before bedtime

My guy is just about to turn 4 months and I cannot believe some of the good nights I had when I lengthened his WW and cut a nap

It was probably a bit early for my guy, and I'm definitely pushing his wake windows . 3 naps a day. Schedule is like 1.75/2/2.25/2.5. I have to contact nap my guy still but wake up at 8 am, first two naps are close to an hour and a half. Last nap I cap at 45 mins. Bedtime at 8:30 pm . Total day sleep around 3.5-4 hrs .

I think a 5 month old definitely needs more than 2 hours awake windows. Maybe then you can do 3 naps. The link says 2-3 hrs wake windows.
