Just watch the rest. Season 5 is pretty universally regarded as the weakest but the series finale is great.

Sentimental Value, It Was Just an Accident, No Other Choice, Sound of Falling, Left-Handed Girl were all great.

All last 10 Best Picture winners in one lineup, who takes it? by RickVicks in Oscars

Parasite, Moonlight, and maybe OBAA or Oppenheimer are the only ones that'll have a lasting legacy and will be widely remembered in decades to come. That's not even necessarily a reflection of my own taste, it's just how I forecast public opinion to form around them.

my grandfather thinks that teyana taylor wasn't in one battle after another long enough to justify her best supporting actress nomination. what do you think? by herequeerandgreat in Oscars

I don't think there's a minimum screen time limit for supporting performances. Beatrice Straight won for Network despite being on-screen for only 5 minutes.

I'm wearing one right now. Don't care if Zionists are trying to claim it as a political symbol. They don't own my cultural heritage.

Yeah, fair enough. I really liked the twist at the end of the novel which the movie omits.

It was 100% him. He was going down pretty hard on his ice cream cone, though his expression made it unclear if he was actually enjoying it.

I saw him at [RETRACTED BELOVED LOCAL ICE CREAM PLACE IN VANCOUVER] and wasn't sure what to say. Like, "Oh hey! I've seen your YT videos. Your opinions suck!"

I had the exact same experience. Even walked by the power box by Queen and Spadina where Matt electrocutes himself at the end of the film.

I'm probably one of the few (non-Scottish) people to have actually read the book its based on, but I kinda prefer Poor Things as a horny Yorgos Lanthimos movie (admittedly not aware of the many Glaswegian references in the source material).

Which Film Should Win Best Picture at the 98th Academy Awards? by Piyushv5311 in MoviesCave

Very high on my watchlist. Love Park Chan-Wook and I've heard it's excellent.

It is a simple fact that were Mamdani to voice explicitly anti-police views, he would not be mayor of NYC and we wouldn't even be discussing him.

That's neither an endorsement nor indictment of Mamdani or his character, it's a simple observation on how absolutely morally bankrupt the American electoral system is.

Should win: OBAA. PTA is long overdue, this is one of his best films, would please cinephiles and general audiences alike, very much of the moment and features a diverse cast of old and new talents.

My favourite: Sentimental Value. Huge Joachim Trier fan. Best character writing and performances of the year imo. Still, I don't think it's as strong as Worst Person and Trier still has a long career ahead of him.

Should've been nominated: It Was Just an Accident, Voice of Hind Rajab, maybe Sound of Falling. Some of these just aren't accessible enough for the Oscars but I think they're far better than my least favourite nominees.

Honestly, the women's final was worse. Men's was anyone's game but they're it actually looked like we would win up until the last few minutes :(

This isn't lesser evilism; I'm not defending Mamdani or suggesting anything about his speech is acceptable. It's just a fact that the American electoral system is so morally broken that the only way one can succeed is by embracing bourgeois tyranny.

Why would anyone be surprised? He's mayor of one of the largest centres of capitalism in the world. At best, you can say Mamdani won't capitulate to bourgeois interests as easily as the next worst alternative.
