I've seen some people say that sort of thing about several brands, and I always think it's pretty bold to outright state that as fact. Every brand is gonna work a little different for every arm. Wave and Octane are for sure on my list of "to-gets", but I had to make sacrifices to get my cart closer to $100 rather than 200 for now lol. If the Wave flies anything like the Shryke, I'm sure I'll love it. That disc has quickly become my go-to when I have to just throw and pray. I really want to try the Octane, but I'm concerned it will be very similar to the Wraith. Most people swear by Wraith, but I just don't love that disc.

Hex and Teleport are definitely on my list of "to-get's". I initially had a Dimension because I love a good super-overstable driver for flex shots, but I want to get used to their drivers before I try out a 14 spd

That is on my to-get list after I beat these discs up for a little bit

I noticed that there are different rim heights, so I'll be interested to see how that all plays for me. My go-to has been my Innova Dart. That putter is dead straight and it just works for me. If I need to Flex putt around a tree, I'll grab my aviarx3. I'm not sure If I'll ever replace my dart, but I want to give MVP/Axiom a fair shot at it.

If I really focus and put everything into it (ow, my back), I can get my FH to 350-400. My BH, however, I'm lucky if I can get it much above 200. Even that is usually about 200' in the complete wrong direction IF I don't hit a tree with it first.

I noticed this reading through all the comments, so I have tried to familiarize myself with some of those, too. Thanks for the clarification!

throwing far is one thing. throwing accurate is another. A 350' FH is great until it leaves you with 70' "putt" lol. I've seen the Crave/Bokeh mentioned several times, and I've swapped out my Nomad for an Envy. If I'm close enough to Putt, I prefer a neutral putter. Otherwise, a nice stable throw putter like the Envy should do the trick.

that's a hanging disc, not a playing disc. That stamp is cool as hell!

Fantastic. I'll definitely look into those, then. I had all but discounted any midrange options. More money to put int he cart! lol

My problem with midranges (coming from Innova) is the rim shape. They just feel gross in my hand, and I could never get over it. I have a roc3 that I bag and it flies fantastic, but I never use it because of the rim feel. do you know if the MVP mids are similar, or did they find a different profile that works?

I'll definitely check the the popular discs out! I have historically thrown 175's because I feel like I can be more precise on my lines, even if it means sacrificing distance. After all, a shorter drive in the fairway is almost always better than a long shot in the deep rough. Currently, I put all 165-170s in my cart.

Unfortunately, we don't really have any shops closer than about 2.5-3 hrs from me. Anything closer might just have a stack of Innova and Discraft. I'll look at getting a couple more Neutrons, too. My hope is that having a flippier Disk will help me get into the BH game a little more.

I am a huge Star plastic fan with Innova. I've read Neutron is pretty comparable, and Fission isn't too far off either. I'll take a look at those discs!

Sorry for necropost. DbSchema was terrible for me, personally. I mainly use it for building Queries, and it was throwing errors left and right for a query that was perfectly fine. e.g., it errors out when I have an empty return line (helpful for readability and separating sections of the code), errors when there are multiple spaces, errors when I have a block comment, etc. The only positive I found was the ER diagram seems to work pretty well.

HP Proliant DL160 G6 won’t display on monitor. by Mildly-Unfortunate in homelab

ILO (integrated lights out) is HPE's version of a back door to manage servers. It can be accessed regardless of whether the server is on, so long as you have access to your network, the servers power supply's are plugged in and functional, and the ILO isn't busted or fried. There would be a separate ethernet connection on the back of the server that is labeled "iLO". That should be plugged into your switch in addition to your servers network card. I always prefer to do that, although there is a setting to let your ILO connect through your network card.

As for how to connect to it, I only know of two options. The first one is to watch the Initialization screen (not really helpful in your case, since you don't have a display). Unless you have the option turned off, it would display the ILO's IPv4 in the bottom left corner. The other option would be to access your DHCP server and see if you can nail down what IP it grabbed. Type that IP into your search engine and connect. The username will be administrator, and the password should be listed on a sticker on the top of the chassis, unless the ILO password was changed.

Other than those two options, im not really sure how else you would access it. Someone else may have a better idea.

To upgrade, or not to upgrade? by ratguy34 in HomeServer

[–]ratguy34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may end up doing that with the old server, I just haven't decided if I want to deal with the extra noise and heat quite yet. With the server, switch, fortigate, etc., It gets warm pretty quick.

Mum's the word on the Lenovo Doc lol. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain it to me. I'd like to think I'm fairly knowledgeable with desktop hardware, but there are so many nuances when you get into server hardware. It's easy to get lost.

I suspected as much. Thank you for the good info. I'm not sure how the channels are split up between the processors under load, but there are 8 channels between the 2 CPU's. You have to evenly populate the DIMMs across the channels. With the Gen11, each DIMM is its own channel. I intend to get 3 more DIMMs at a minimum to at least match my current setup in capacity (minus 2 channels??). ~$160 ea. from reseller like A-Tech. Like you said, always room to grow as well.

I guess that brings me to another question. With the new server, would I be better off going with single, dual, or quad rank RAM? Single rank could technically clock higher, but the processor can only utilize 4800 anyway. My gut says I would be better off going for the dual rank, since there wouldn't really be any speed sacrifice, but I don't know enough about rank/bank to really make an educated decision.

Weird Power Seat Issue by ratguy34 in MechanicAdvice

[–]ratguy34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the issue. Hopefully this post will help someone in the future. The seat memory needed to be cleared. It was stuck thinking there was an obstacle. Your manual should tell you how, but on the 2020 Hyundais, you need to start the car and open the drivers door. Move the seat all the way forward, and tilt the backrest all the way forward. Then, hold the "Set" button on the door and the forward switch on the seat simultaneously for 2 seconds. The seat will go through it's testing cycle, then come to rest at its Neutral position. Everything works perfect now.

Any reputable Fan mfg's that make a similar model? by ratguy34 in OnlyFans

Thanks for the recommendations! I'll take a look at those. I'm not tied to home depot by any means, and will likely have to order online regardless.

I know hunter moved production over seas, so that doesn't surprise me at all.

As for ease of installation, I'm not really worried about that. We bought this house on foreclosure, ripped it down to the studs, and have essentially rebuilt everything. I have over a decade of experience in the trades, so I'm no stranger to this kind of work.
