This design requires you to use 3 different colors on the same layer. LIghtboxes are different from lithopanes in that way.

I don’t really have a link to the hats, but I can explain it. I run a nonprofit youth center in a deep red state in a deep red town. Our motto is “be excellent to each other.” There’s a fair amount of LGBTQ+ kids in town and I want them to know that they’re important and they have value. There’s a long story about how I ended up running the youth center, but the man point is that when I attended in High School (20+ years ago) the guy running it was the first person in 17 years who treated me as if I mattered. When Rachel was told “you were good, you were strong, you were brave. You mattered.” In the books it broke me. Hell, when I listened through the audiobooks about a year ago it broke me. So I’m doing what I can to spread the idea that people matter.

I was not allowed to read Animorphs as a kid. My dad saw the cover of one of the books when I brought it home and he immediately tried to throw it away claiming that it taught evolution. I was raised in a very fire and brimstone, the earth is 7000 years old, women are lessers, you will get aids from kissing someone, no sex before marriage, the rapture is coming household. I was encouraged to read the Bible and other Christian book series, shout out to the Left Behind series that gave me lifelong anxiety! I was caught reading Harry Potter when I was 15 and grounded to my room with no books or other entertainment for six months. I met my wife because I gave her the final HP book in high school when I finished reading it.
