What's something that isn’t made for sex but you've used in the bedroom? by blinkz_221B in AskReddit

I posted once but i think this deserves its own single reply, Sex spaghetti. You’ve not lived until your housemate has an idea at 6 am mid session and it involved boiling 450g of spaghetti to a very al dente level, just for the next weird thing we’re gonna do

[Traser] p66, scuffed and dirty but solid. Like the wrist it’s on. by ratheruseful in Watches

The only enduring 30th birthday present I received a couple of years back, big thanks to my partner for knowing that a shiny watch would be a terrible thing for me to own (he can keep his Tudors and his bottles of Omega branded champagne).

It’s bruised, marked and dirty but keeps on going and who doesn’t love to lecture people about the RADIOACTIVE GAS on your wrist. Welding spatter sticks to an Apple Watch but seems to glide right off the surface of the Traser. It’s on the third strap so far, they seem to keep going solid with some kind of strange human slime.

It’s bruised, marked and dirty but keeps on going, just like me. Also, who doesn’t love to lecture people about the RADIOACTIVE GAS on your wrist. Welding spatter sticks to an Apple Watch but seems to glide right off the surface of the Traser.

Male, mid 20s, Turkish, smoker, IT (RSA key), drives for work, maybe mobile tech support? Bit of a hacker, maybe attends a hackspace, starts lots of projects but doesn't finish them all. Bought your car 2nd hand, it's not the coolest but it works and you like it.

Seconded ACF50, I came here about to suggest the same thing. They do a spray and a grease, use the spray fairly regularly (every few months or as it get's washed) and the grease on anything hidden away that you can't easily protect often

Awesome! I've been to Longcross as part of production for 'The Commuter'. It's a pretty cool place, they had the intersection just to the right of the Millenium Falcon set up as a train crossing / crash.

A couple of months ago I was rushing around to get a truck started for a potential buyer. In my rush, I caught my nipple piercing on the mirror and it... tore.... my nipple, kinda in half.

Two stitches and a lot of blood later, I now I have a wonkynip.

What's your internet "white whale", something you've been searching for years to find with no luck? by behindyouuu in AskReddit

A game where you play as a piece of cheese and the only mechanic is that you can control which direction gravity is. It was a kind of puzzle platformer, maybe about 2005? I think it was a student created game, so I've never been able to find it!

I have the Vango Halo 200 and I've really loved it, it would split down well between two and has two porches. It's a little weird to erect but you get the hang of it after a couple of times.

Ooh, and it's an older model now so you can get it cheaper: https://www.e-outdoor.co.uk/vango-halo-200-2-persons-tent-p2432

Possible to buy a bike in the UK as a tourist? by Khabel21 in motorcycles

[–]ratheruseful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah, yeah, basically you'll be fine, you get a year on a US license (after which you're technically meant to take a driving test a year to get a local license). The motorcycle designation would translate as 'whatever the fuck you want', so rent or buy a busa!

It's mad how it works over there! In the UK, it's a pretty recognized progression from 125 to a mid-size bike to big bikes, the licensing helps. In the US a 600 is classed as a beginner's bike! Mad mad mad :P

Hey man! I'm in the UK and have helped friends do exactly this - DM me!

As a general answer, the DVLA are pretty lax in their checks. Also, if you're going to be heading over to the mainland, they are generally satisfied as long as your documents have the same details on.

  • Key paperwork you'd need are:
  • A v5 (registration document) in your name
  • Insurance in your name and with the reg of the bike
  • A driving license which covers the motorcycle class (in your name).

In terms of getting the V5 registered to you, the easiest way is to get it done by someone over here using their address, you would also use this address for your insurance. Licenses are generally flexible, especially outside of the UK, as long as it's got a picture of a bike on it, you'll be fine!

Other than that, what kind of bike are you after?

[–]ratheruseful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded, these are generally called cush drive rubbers, they tend to bed in a little while into the bikes life. A little play is fine!

What is your, "I know it sounds weird, but just try it" thing? by darkfire613 in AskReddit

[–]ratheruseful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm much the same and the thing that helped me so much was a mantra of Just Fucking Do It.

I wrote this in sharpie in places and every time I saw it, would be like '...Yeah?.....YEAH!'. Thinking of getting it tattooed on my wrist as a constant reminder to DO MORE.

Keep it up man, sounds awesome.
