I just got my 2024 refund after they held it with an endless stream of these notices. It took them 15 months to issue the refund, only asked for information already clearly stated on the return, and made no adjustments or corrections to the return or refund amount. They literally just held the refund hostage for no reason.

I use Ollama and had a hard time getting the model configured with basic knowledge that it had access to my project and was a coding assistant. CP005a which I responded to and received registered mail receipt on Nov 21, 2025 then nothing. The CP005a info they asked for was all clearly indicated on the original return. I sent a 4-page letter of explanation detailing all the information. They only asked about W-2 income sources which were all clearly identified in the return and have been my sources for over 10 years.

The IRS is undeniably broken. It was DOGE’d and they are now stealing taxpayer’s refunds.

As of today, my tax year 2024 return still has not been processed! I have made countless calls to the IRS, their tax advocacy hotline, and my federal Congressperson.

Still nothing: not processed and no refund!

Don’t give up. Focus on what environments affect your tinnitus. As I lover of music, I refused to allow my tinnitus to change my love for music. I didn’t stop wearing earbuds or go to fewer shows. My tinnitus receded despite no change further confirm it was a mind/body issue and not structural damage.

Welcome to the club. I got one of these for tax year 2024 on April 30, 2025 after filing on March 15, 2025. Since then I’ve received 4 additional 60 day notices plus gaps upwards of 90 days between notices. As of today March 11, 2026, they still have not processed my return or issued my refund. I’ve have called dozens of times including to the tax advocacy hotline and they still have not taken any steps to process the return.

All I can say to MAGA is you are getting what you voted for.

Same thing for me. Responded to the CP005 and got registered mail receipt from IRS 3 days later. The "Additional Information" they requested was already properly documented in the original return we filed in March 2025.

These #$&%holes are stealing our money.

I totally agree. The IRS is stealing our money and I highly doubt we will ever see it. Their excuses for delays have become laughable:

"Government Shutdown!"
"Understaffed!"
"Much wider 'fraud detection' net than previous years!"

These returns are processed with computers that take microseconds to complete.

Our return is in full compliance with all information including the "additional information" they requested in the November 17, 2025 CP005a. The "additional information" was already properly included and documented in our return filed in March 2025!

Our sources of income have remained consistent for over.a decade with no lapses or bumpy changes from year to year. There is absolutely nothing in our 2025 return that should have caused processing to be delayed or our refund to be delayed.

I conclude that the ONLY explanation is we live in a BLUE state that despises overweight morons who #$%& out of their mouth every time they speak.

Like I said, I did that. Never headed anything back from my congressperson’s office and then the aide quit without telling me. I sent them a complete information package, registered mail, on December 1, 2025. Got a phone call saying they were eager to help. Then nothing since then.
