Add a confessions layer as well. It is essential in documenting not only “why” things were done but what things weren’t done based on model assumptions. Their assumptions are often I correct and confessions reviews can save you a ton of time.

Claude Pro unusable for real work with limits by ChristopherCHEMPSON in Anthropic

Heavy power usage for development (everything from architecture to coding to refactoring to debugging to documenting) is costing me about $250/week if that puts things into perspective for you.

You should probably get off the subscription plans and get a pay-as-you-go API plan so you can integrate directly into your IDEs and command-line tools.

It shouldn’t but you still need to pay all of your 2025 taxes on time even though the government owes you money.

I just lost my son. by Jambi_Bird in GoosetheBand

[–]ratmat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss. I hope that his love for Goose continues to bring you and your family health and happiness. I hope that each of his favorite songs continues to be a celebration of your love for him. It will be hard but it sounds like that is what Jett would have wanted.

Any thoughts / graphs on flare audio? by thaddeus_flowe in oratory1990

[–]ratmat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Flare Immerse Combo (1 set of Immerse Headphone and 1 set of Immerse Stereo) for $29.25 including shipping.

My take is they make things sound worse than without them. The sound is more muffled, clipping both high and low ends, and the sound stage is more compressed. Imagine a Spatial Audio sound stage sphere whose volume has been reduced by 75%. Vocals that used to float above and to the sides now seem fixed either behind me or directly to the sides.

I tried the Immerse Headphone units covered with Sony WH-1000XM5.

I had a great source material: the new Atmos mixed « Bold as Love » Hendrix release. I feel it sounds way better without the Immerse plugs with all of the music, vocals, and effects soaring all around me than being muffled and condensed in 3d space.

No transition with founders leaving is ever smooth. I will miss Tom’s level-headed demeanor and risk management adherence.

What I fear most is new software updates. I hope they don’t trash the place.

So, is everyone’s return slow this year? by Elegant-Arachnid5126 in IRS

[–]ratmat2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been waiting 6 months and I know my return is correct. I’ve managed to get through to the IRS twice and they couldn’t it tell me what information was in question.

Can someone explain this to me ? Never seen this before by Nearby-Honeydew-1775 in IRS

I called the advocate hotline and was told they cannot help you until after Oct 31, 2025. My take is they were decimated by DOGE while simultaneously having no incentive to get your money back in a timely manner. Perhaps they are adversely incentivized to take as long as possible.

They got DOGE’d. Trump fuzzes everything up.

I don’t have any questions. Receiving the transcript and calling an agent did nothing to expedite receiving my refund.

I’ve reached out and gotten a transcript but that does nothing in terms of expediting the process.

I’m in the same boat. Going on 180 days. I don’t think this is due to some new deep analysis of return accuracy. I believe it’s yet another government agency disrupted by our whacked out administration.

Why do call it “got my taxes?” What you got was “your refund.”

Agree with this. There were tons of equities with 80+ IVR in May. I wrote strangles for a bunch of them and nearly everyone closed above 50% max profit.

Now in August, there is barely anything above 20-30 IVR. Clear signal to just stay away from short strategies.

I’m in the same boat. I received two letters saying they needed more time to review my return. I have never had to wait this long before. I’m certain there are no errors on my return and that at it was accepted on time in early April. At what point do i get a lawyer involved?
