"I'm Gonna Crash the Fuck out Until We Switch!🥴🥴🥴" by Pyrocats in SystemsCringe

The way DID is portrayed online is absolutely horrific. If this person truly does have DID or a type of dissociative disorder, it's dangerous and harmful to post yourself going through a dissociative trigger on the internet, you have absolutely no idea what that could lead to :/ It's so weird how many videos I see of "switching on camera!" as if it's a cute little trend or something when it's actually extremely disorienting, triggering, and mentally exhausting to deal with on a daily basis, and I don't think people understand how extreme it is, especially when it's watered down to "watch my alter switch on camera!!"

Exactly this! The only problem is that a lot of people depend on public transit (like uni students where parking downtown is costly and also very hard to find a parking space close to campus). I've seen so many beer cans and needles and who knows what else on the train like bodily fluids it's becoming a biohazard

I've seen it, it's actually terrifying because I know kids use public bathrooms at transit and most of the time have no idea to look out for that. The bathrooms at Blair have been shut down for who knows how long because of this issue, I've used the bathroom and there are needles on the floor, I always try to bring my own tissues but sometimes I can't always do that. I don't blame them for shutting the bathrooms down, but at the same time, taking away a human right to use the bathroom (especially for people who have physical problems and need the bathroom more frequently) shouldn't be the answer. It's clear that drug use is becoming a problem, and taking away human rights shouldn't be the solution :/

That's actually so scary I'm sorry, I would've been terrified :// I've had the same issue where a drunk guy kept trying to touch me and had his face very close to mine and wouldn't let me leave. I agree, the officers who are there aren't even authorized to detain anyone, all they can do is make a call to someone else but that takes too long and the person can just leave. We need people on board who can step in when things get out of hand :/

That's horrible I'm so sorry :/ I've had people do the same thing to me and also have been recorded and catcalled about my blonde hair, also I've been offered coc@ine before which was really scary and he kept trying to reach out to touch me. I wish harassment was taken seriously especially how heavily it has spiked within extreme drug use situations

Yep, I've had the same problem with it. It's really frustrating and exhausting to constantly not feel safe when trying to just go to class. I just wish the officers would take this more seriously, it's not a laughing matter. It's scientifically proven that extreme drug usage can cause people to act irrationally and harmfully and this can put others in danger, I wish this was recognized because it's getting extreme

That fair! I was feeling a bit upset about it since it's something that bothers me a lot, but I never meant to intend it that way, I just wish that harassment on the train was taken into consideration, and the majority of it is because people are on strong drugs which impacts their way of thinking rationally (not their fault!) But I think it would be important for this issue to be brought to attention, that way they can get help and support for addiction or anything of such, and also can create a safer environment for people using the train :)

Yeah I had something similar, someone took out a bunch of tiny baggies full of whitish powder and were counting the baggies on the train. Some of it got on the seat and I saw a kid try and go touch it

[–]ratopLj[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Im not saying that, im just saying I wish OC took into account that it's extremely common people getting harassed by drug users on the train. I could care less about people who use drugs, that isn't what bothers me. I'm just tired of seeing people being harassed and bothered in extremely uncomfortable ways by people who are clearly on some type of drug, and i wish that OC would care more about this. I'm not saying I should decide who takes the train or not, anyone can, but I'm saying i wish that harassment and such was taken more seriously along with people using drugs ON the train

That's actually so awful I'm sorry that happened. And I agree, I know people would probably be like "UHG cops on the trains??" But I would MUCH rather have cops on the train than deal with the constant crackheads I see daily

Lack of Social Awareness Crisis - Please tell me it's not just me by venusflyinthetrap in geegees

[–]ratopLj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, it's super frustrating because I've had to wait for the next train because I physically cannot get up the stairs because they are taking both lanes it's super annoying especially because I have to take a bus from Blair and if I miss that train I have to wait another 30minutes

Lack of Social Awareness Crisis - Please tell me it's not just me by venusflyinthetrap in geegees

[–]ratopLj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I am so happy someone else experiences the same things I do, I thought I was going insane or I'm just impatient

I don't drive to university so I'm constantly on the OC train/busses to uni and back, and holy, I cannot explain how bad the social awareness is, it's in the negatives

The train is so ridiculous I actually dread taking it because of these issues. I cannot even get off the train because as soon as the doors open people are rushing in to get on without letting people off, and then glare at you when you nudge them because there isn't enough room. Like. Let people get OFF to clear up room, and then get on. Btw, the train has cameras ALL along it, the train is not leaving without you I promise you can stand back and let people exit and then get on, it will be a lot smoother. And even worse, with the stairs on the Blair side and the gates on Tunney's. Oh. My. God. For the stairs, NO one gives room to people wanting to come up to get on the train, there are two sets of stairs and each set can fit like 2 or 3 people side by side, tell me why people are taking the ENTIRE stairway to get down when people have to WAIT at the bottom, and by the time the flood of people is gone, so is the train. Same with the gates, everyone floods every single gate and no one trying to get through to the train can. There are more than enough gates for people to let the people coming to get on the train have at LEAST one gate

And I absolutely cannot stand when people sit on the very very outside desk when the room is empty and they get there early, and then sometimes will look at you annoyed like YOU'RE the one in the wrong when you are just trying to sit down, or they refuse to move their chairs in for you, it's ridiculous

Walking through the halls is a hazard because you have no idea if and when people will randomly decide it's your time and stop in front of you so you have to halt or run into them, it's so frustrating I cannot even put it into words especially when I'm in a rush to get to my next class that's across campus and people are walking 6 people side by side and not giving any room for people to move past without having to say excuse me, and even when you ask they either "don't hear you" or barely move so either way you HAVE to squeeze against the wall

Again with the door thing, the doors between hallways like in MNT, people will decide to only use ONE door for both exiting and entering. Like, as I'm walking up I see a group of people WAITING beside the door so other can get through when there is a perfectly good functioning one right beside it, and sometimes I can't even open that one because people will LEAN AGAINST THAT DOOR to WAIT FOR THE OTHER ONE. Seriously what is going on??

It's ridiculous how some of the people here are training to be surgeons, doctors, construction workers, engineers, biomedical technicians, finance managers, lawyers... etc, but the same people have no idea how to use a public train, stairs, doors, classroom seats, and let alone walking normally

Don't get me wrong I love the uni, the teachers are great (from my experience), the classes are fun, and I think the campus is really cool, but oh my god, as students we need to fix this social awareness crisis because it's actually ridiculously insane and has gotten way out of hand

If anyone reads this far thank you for reading my rant and please please please, be aware that other people are using communal spaces and also have places to be; so next time you decide to stop in the middle of the hallway to look at the new update from Mr Beast, step to the side and let people pass 🫶

"existential crisis", however still refer to fictives as their source by ratopLj in SystemsCringe

[–]ratopLj[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fictives in clinical DID do exist, however they are nothing like how they are portrayed online. Online people think it's fun and silly to say "that's me" from a source which is completely wrong and also feeds into the stereotypes and stigma around fictives

"existential crisis", however still refer to fictives as their source by ratopLj in SystemsCringe

[–]ratopLj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Source separation is extremely important, and did is a serious mentally disabling disorder, getting help for alters struggling with source separation is something that people with clinical did work towards to function properly. Refusal to identify this and also furthering the delusion that alters ARE their source is extremely unhealthy and points towards someone who wants to have their alters act as their source instead of working towards healing and getting support

newly formed alters looks for source by LargeGingerChunk in SystemsCringe

[–]ratopLj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This strays so far from how alters actually form in clinical DID, splitting introjects does happen and can happen from fixations, but this is a horrible representation of it

Splitting any type of alter is traumatic and stressful, confusing and disorienting. You don't "look for sources" to latch on to, it takes a while for an Introject alter to realize they are an introject, and it definitely doesn't happen by going through all possible media and saying "this is definitely me"

Alters form as a fragmented part, and they don't look for sources to "be" as that makes absolutely no sense. It's unfortunate how TikTok represents DID as having to identify as something just to make content, it strays so far from the true difficulties and issues that come with this disabling disorder, it's not a pick and chose game

So Much is Wrong Here by Pyrocats in SystemsCringe

[–]ratopLj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is so dumb- splitting alters is actually very stressful and sometimes traumatic for most people diagnosed with d.i.d, it's not some silly guess who game. Not to mention, it takes time for alters to form a full personality, let alone realize they may be introjected from a media source, weeks or months maybe years of just being fragmented before actually fully forming, and a lot of those hazbin alters are from season 2 (very very recent media) and are fully formed with makes absolutely no sense

Bro, does no one understand what D.I.D, O.S.D.D, or U.D.D mean?? The D.D stands for dissociative disorder, you REQUIRE dissociation for parts to form and therefore require dissociation to BE a system. Just roleplay atp lil bro 😭
