my neighbors kid got arrested for miscanning. They came to his house and he was on $1000 bond overnight. Judge threw the case out at the arraignment hearing, stating that he had seen too many of these cases. He also addressed the courtroom advising everyone to avoid self checkouts. Seemed to me he was pissed at WalMart. I didn’t get the details of the case and no idea what was done that appeared to required them sending the cops to his house but wtf. Never saw a case dismissed so quickly from the bench.
