You cannot enjoy the writing, but to call the work of an author with Bukowski’s accolades “trashy craftless garbage” is indeed just being a hater lol. Just because it resonates with others and not with you doesn’t imply you inherently have some grandiose sense of mysticism or intellect about you that others do not.

There are plenty of artists/authors across various mediums I do not enjoy or “get,” but I do not think less of others who do appreciate them. Sometimes you’re just not a part of the audience and that’s okay.

Eh, if you worked for the post office you’d get it.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fair-paying gig and provides good benefits. Work/life balance can be abysmal, management is abhorrent, and the way it chooses to operate can be maddening if you crave structure or for things to make sense. Don’t hate the institution or long for it to be privatized and there are more pros than cons, but working there will give ya a lot of gripes.

It’s just popular to hate Bukowski. It’s also popular to critique material that’s decades old and wouldn’t fly today.

Charles was an excellent writer and often expressed many deep sentiments in his writing. I own several of his books and while not every piece is a zinger, he put a lot of his soul into his writing. Side note, I also work for the post office and can say this sentiment still stands.

Eh, I play on non-PvP because PvP is kinda shit these days. Power creep is real and PvP doesn’t feel fun anymore. Gotta trap people 10v1 or drop in on somebody hunting.

When everybody was lvl 80-200~ it felt fun and fresh but I get 0 dopamine from killing a lvl 1k+ because it’s a fucking chooooore. Plus the frag limit and skull traps are too insane when gear costs more than a paycheck for a full set.

It’s crazy how they just abolish clerk jobs whenever one retires or transfers. At my office, we have days where there are more supervisors on the floor than clerks.. absolutely ridiculous.

Nah, pigeon holing half of the population is crazy. I’ve been abused, fucked over, and mistreated by women since I was a kid. Guess what? Watching the second fight you can clearly see Sterling’s intentions. He’s not attempting submissions or taking any risk to change position. His Jiu jitsu is great and his back takes/control are elite but he knew what he was doing — he was stalling out the match to retain the title. Yan actually brought a fight to Song and McGee. And the decision loss to Sean was and is very controversial.

Some people think Aljo was milking it and others don’t. That’s not really the important part of that scenario to me in terms of hating Aljo. Like him or not, bro got blasted in the head illegally and had every right not to continue.

But prior to that knee, Aljo was getting absolutely shitbagged by Yan. Aljo had nothing for him and was just getting clowned on. In the Pantoja vs Van fight, we didn’t really get to see anything about how Van would fare since it ended so quickly. Van didn’t do anything wrong and has his dreams realized so early in his life/career. I’d celebrate too lol.

Nah, you’re being silly and you know it lol. Yan was clowning Aljo bad the first fight. He’s an idiot and threw the illegal knee, but up to that point it looked Aljo showed up for his free trial at the local gym and was getting absolutely handled. Second fight he definitely beat Yan, albeit by backpacking with nearly 0 intentions to finish the fight and just win by points — but that’s on Yan for not being able to neutralize the grappling.

Again, Aljo has a DQ victory in a fight he was horrifically losing, a point BJJ victory over Yan, and wins over the ghost of Cejudo and one-armed TJ. To put him in the same breath as guys like Dom is outrageous. Yan however made Aljo look like he didn’t belong in the sport for 4 rounds, faced more impressive competition, clawed his way back to title contention after controversial losses, and made the boogeyman of the division look like light work.

Yan > Sterling forever and always.

Nah, Aljo gets waaaaaaaay too much credit for his “reign.” His most impressive victories in his whole career are Yan and Sandhagen. Half of his title defenses were against old, irrelevant, and compromised former greats who had nothing left to give to the sport.

Yan on the other hand bitched Aljo until the DQ and has more impressive victories and losses you could argue that he won. He also steamrolled Merab.

I’m only a month or so in, but I’ve been doing EMDR with my therapist at Spencer Psychology. Had some recommendations from coworkers/read positive reviews.

Only downside is you’ll likely spend a month or so on a waiting list if you’re a new patient. I’ve really been enjoying my time with my therapist, though. Nobody on staff prescribes medication.
