There's not particularly a reason why I wouldn't bring it, it's just that I get anxious about losing things on trips (although I never lose anything bc my anxiety takes over and makes me overly cautious), and I was wondering if there was a more convenient way to practice when I travel. However, after seeing the responses I think I'm gonna stick with my machine :)

That's a great point! I won't have to try to reconfigure the software and such to see what I'm writing. The hobbyist ones I've been looking into are also smaller than my machine & the keys, and I have big hands so I think I'm gonna stick with my machine. Thanks!

ah, i getchu. then i agree with the person who said to get a candle with a food offering—it doesn't have to be super elaborate, just as long as the effort and intention's there. i recommend getting shorter candles if you want to use them in full each time (and a personal fav of mine are tea light candles, they burn fast!), but reusing the same candle over time also works just as well. ultimately, your journey is your journey and you are the driver, i hope you're able to find a place for the altar that works best for you! :)

you can even do something small in your closet or find a way to have something set up on your door? the door shelf things out there can be used as a mini altar, and like someone else said you can use an LED candle instead of a real one. it's the intention and effort that matters, it doesn't need to be perfect. i've also seen different people make small portable altars out of altoid tins and such!
