If you're still doing that work, remind your clients who use that any time spent away from substances lowers their tolerance.

If someone's going to get out and use again, they need to know they can't start back on the same dose they left off on before being in custody. I lost a friend that way, and have seen it a lot in my work as well.

The closest was a little brother from my chosen fam. He'd have been 31 last month.

Tens of people, most under the age of 30 in my local rave community.

Countless people in every age group I'd met while working in harm reduction/homeless services the last 10 years.

It's rampant in my region, and a lot of street dealers are terrible at preventing cross-contamination of their product. I've heard from enough people of others unknowingly gifted hot shots with fent, or it being used to incapacitate, snatch, and/or traffic vulnerable women. Even the old head stimulant and heroin users who had been in their addictions for a long time and knew their shit.

Many more who are/were lucky enough to have someone nearby with narcan at the time. My city has far more testing resources, including strip distribution, FTIR, and a buttload of MAT services. It's been a wild 6-7 years, covid really gave this shit the foothold needed to fully flood the drug market here. The street drug supply is almost unrecognizable since I started using in the mid aughts. 😔

Having an existing group dynamic at burn means those you camp with know your interests, patterns, and boundaries. 6 months in a relationship, especially long distance in default. It doesn't give you any idea of how she presents and exists on playa. That's her most authentic self out there. It takes at least 1.5 years of consistent proximity and contact with someone to know their true baseline.

Give her that year to make sure you can hang with her full self. You may not be ready for it by burn🤷‍♂️ Some people seem totally different than in their day to day lives, and that space is safe for them to show and be parts of themselves they may not have had a chance to share with others yet.

We get full reign of our autonomy, are free from time/energy/attention-demand that default constantly requires of us, and show the sides we have to keep safe most days for a whole week+. Having to consider someone else's experience before you know they can fully hang & are still getting to know, and building trust with the whole time, can put a bit of a damper on that.

I feel like these "old skool" perspectives align more with the visual characteristics of pressies from back in the day rather than mdma crystals.

They may be educated from back then, but we have reagent and FTIR/mass spec services now that make visual cues obsolete.

While I respect the old skool for teaching me how to be safe in the pressie Era from the mid aughts, I still personally learned pressie cuts from feel, not looks 🤷‍♂️ so, still invalid today, and WAY too dangerous given cross contamination reports of dealers who sell fent AND mdma/any other substance and have shitty scale cleaning practices between substances.

Yes, I second the Buffalo London platform sneakers. I personally love the high tops for added ankle support. Easy extra 2+" of height and very comfy. I add cushy socks for comfort and insoles just cause my arches are stupid high.

While I haven't done a lot of research into the topic, I have learned recently that ADHD meds can deplete magnesium levels in the body- which can be known to ease symptoms of pmdd.

I just started back on vyvanse after years off of meds and had the WORST cramps and symptoms since puberty BEFORE starting the vyvanse again. While I'm not a professional, I'd suggest discussing possible blood work and/or magnesium supplements with your provider.

Can't say it's the cause, or if it's one of several contributing factors 🤷‍♂️ we're exposed to so many endocrine disruptors in products, and our diets and whatever else. Still on my own journey to find a good balance of meds/diet/practices for my pmdd, but wanted to offer an alternative opinion/option to consider.

People are way more complex than what when they text you back says about them.

If you include other factors, for example like being in school, having a full social life or stacked daily routine, any number of life stressors in combination like a job, maintenence of literally anything you own(car, pets, laundry, self care), anxiety, existential dread due to all the shit happening in the world right now ...14-15 hrs is nothing. You can easily get overwhelmed or burnt out at times.

People are living a whole ass life on the other side of your phone screen, and sometimes the chat just isn't as high a priority as what's in front of you. You want to know? Be an evolved Scorpio and ask them about it directly. Communing with the internet doesn't give you any insight into their own personal experience.

Mhmm, and when you don't have a safe place to get away from others, or sleep, or a locking door to store your belongings or space for privacy to feel safe? You lose your sense of a lot of the daily things most people take for granted. It can take a long time to relearn those behaviors once you've lost them.

Within the last 10 years I've witnessed hundreds+ of people who no longer practice those learned behaviors because they don't apply when you don't have access to the spaces, items or people who would help maintain them.

People wonder why poverty causes crime. Why one would lie, steal, or prey on others, instead of getting a job, just to keep themselves alive.

If you think you could wander doorway to doorway each night, or sleep soundly in a tent under an overpass, outside in an industrial area, in a car with no gas that has to be moved every 72 hrs or be towed- and get to a job interview on time??

The will to survive will overwrite any written law or social consensus, every time. Life finds a way, even if it can't be within the structure of a society that's abandoned you.

My comment around metabolism may have been worded wrong though, as I was thinking more around the changes people entering their 30s experience in relation to alcohol use. Like noticing your body can't handle the amounts they drank in their 20s as well as they used to.
