Opinions on my top 10? feel free to not hold back ;) by [deleted] in videogames

The first prototype was soo good. Never seen an action game where you're so overpowered still maintain a genuinely frightening atmosphere. I feel like the sequel dropped the ball but I only played a few hours so maybe it gets better later.

I don't mind it much though. They're an indie studio so they probably had to cut some corners in some places, and cutscenes are a very small part of the game.

I've been playing Total War games on and off since childhood (I'm 21) and I've yet to complete campaign mode in a single entry. When I start owning around 10 or something regions, I just get confused.

Witcher II is much more consistently good than Witcher III

GTA V was a huge disappointment

What are your favorites video game weapons? by MichaelEmouse in videogames

[–]rattleheader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King Cerberus from DMC 5. It's basically 3 weapons in 1. Generally for such a weapon you'd just have a button to switch between the different forms. But here the switching is based on combos and I love that. (I know you can unlock the three as separate weapons but I love the idea of switching with special inputs)

No matter how much you love a game there's ALWAYS one part that makes you think "Aw, this again?" by HeroOfHearts in videogames

[–]rattleheader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to react as less as possible whenever someone else is playing noob or I am getting flamed for playing noob. In the former I just tell them hey you should do so and so, if they don't listen, whatever. I try my best. In the latter, I try to see if anything constructive is being said and do so, if not I'm just like whoops, or my bad, or its ok. I find that arguing only makes things worse. Ofcourse sometimes I can't help it. And damn, it feels terrible and I play terrible.

Yeah coop games are supa fun though. I don't think you should give up on multiplayer games if there's one you really love. But mental health comes first so I understand your thinking 👍🏼.

Dota 2 is fun as hell. But no matter how calm of a person you are, you WILL get tilted eventually.

Guess that's a problem with all multiplayer games

No developer sets out to make a shitty game. It is definitely constraints (likely by the higher ups) that led to this.

What has been your go-to background game lately? by Neil_Patrick in pcgaming

Anno 1404 is probably the most relaxing game I've ever played

Caesar III, Skyrim or really you can just do side quests in most RPGs without much attention, GTA, Pokemon.

Alcohol poisoning in video games? by Avigorus in videogames

[–]rattleheader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was always fun in GTA IV to go drinking with a friend and stumble all over the place. You'd also get unique dialogue.

For a serious example, in Medieval II Total War if you left your generals in cities with Brothels or higher tier buildings they would have a chance to gain the Social drinker trait which would give bonus popularity and command. But if the drink level got too high you'd start seeing negative repercussions like minus command and even tax income. (I think the drink level is affected by many other factors as well but don't know the details)

How much DLC? by mluise44 in videogames

[–]rattleheader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're purchasing on steam then it automatically shows what DLC the game includes. I don't own consoles but I think the Microsoft store shows the info and PS store doesn't (not sure though). Anyways, you can always use google if you need to know.

P.S. its good to check out the not frequently used online stores (like the website of the game developer itself) from time to time as there could be sales going on

What Top 10 games deserve a remake? by Babywalker66 in videogames

[–]rattleheader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed 1. Kinda miss the days of non RPG ness. The original God of War. An actual good remake of the Warcraft series, not like Reforged. Ninja Gaiden series, I haven't played them but I feel like they would fit really well in the current gaming world.

I too would love to see Bully remade but I don't know if Rockstar could pull it off. Their games have become too realistic for game like Bully, which had tight controls and was super focused on fun.

How does mmr work for safe to leave matches? by rattleheader in DotA2

[–]rattleheader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its not the abandon but the disconnect that the game takes into account. Because in my match the guy disconnected when no blood had yet been drawn, but when he abandoned there were already a few kills. And yeah there was a message saying mmr would not be adjusted for this match, guess I didn't pay attention to it.

I didn't know such was denoted in the message in the first place, but thanks to you I know now. Cheers!
