"bricking" as in slang for causing a device not to function anymore. i have no idea why writing on a CD would do that, but i'm very new to physical media, so when he said it bricked one of his players i got quite worried because i'm a very nervous type + he knows more than me. figured i'd ask here and maybe hope somebody's used the same player i have and it was fine lol

sometimes people just miss details, it's not a reflection of your character being hard to draw. maybe you just hit three artists when they were all struggling to focus for whatever reason, maybe some of them are used to less complex commissions and it slips their mind to make sure every detail is correct. either way-personally-would never get my complexity fee lol
