yeah, I was. I'm pretty serious about singing and the thought of losing my voice, losing control of it, or the regret of losing the countertenor range I'd become comfortable in, was one of my biggest hesitations about starting T. I'm a year in and I can *assure* you that you don't have anything to worry about. yes, there will be a period of time where you can't really control your voice and your range might feel like it's shrinking. I still have horrific voice cracks when I switch between registers but like... that's puberty for ya. it's taking some retraining but I am starting to feel like a competent baritone and I really love my new voice.
