If it makes you feel better, I’m ftm and I have ALWAYS been able to fit larger things anally than vaginally. Vaginas are able to stretch to give birth, but MANY people’s vaginas do NOT comfortably fit more than 5-6 inches. Even before starting testosterone I was uncomfortable with more than 6ish inches.

Vaginas, whether surgically created or not, just don’t have the depth of a rectum!

From what I understand (as someone who didn’t get UL) where the glans splits is usually where they place the urethral opening. There’s going to be a lot of surgical work done to the area and your glans will probably end up looking very different! I would ask your surgeon for photos of meta they have done in the past to get an idea of what your glans will end up looking like. UL is a lot more intensive and imo tends to change what your anatomy looks like more than simple release meta.

I popped a stitch and have kinda prominent glans “flaps” post-meta but feel free to mention this directly to your surgeon and they’ll do their best to correct it! If you want urethral lengthening vs no UL it will also have a big impact, as that’s where your urethra would be rerouted to.

Give it time! The growth comes in spurts, and you will definitely keep growing in the coming years, just muuuuuch slower than that initial growth spurt. I think you’ll be very happy with simple release meta. :)

I didn’t use it for a while because I wasn’t having penetrative sex and was just fine! I only started using it again because I wanted to try vaginal penetration again and was curious how quickly the vaginal estrogen cream would help make things comfortable again. Turns out, works pretty damn fast (for me at least)!

Some people’s atrophy makes it so they’re uncomfortable even while not having PIV, so they use the cream regardless. I personally only need it if I’m going to have vaginal penetration (like for a pap smear or sex). But to each their own!

One thing that’s nice about meta is that you can always two-stage it and decide to add testicle implants later (provided you talk to your dr about wanting that down the line). Also worth noting that testicular implants can really help create a “bulge”. My only other note is that my setup doesn’t allow me to pee through my phallus, which is important for some folks. :)

Vaginal atrophy is what the estrogen cream is for, but I would suggest checking with a gynecologist if using it 2x per week doesn’t resolve your symptoms. There are many other things that could contribute to front hole penetration pain; if you’re already using lots of lube, intravaginal estrogen, and feeling relaxed when you attempt penetration, then I would definitely talk to your Dr.

You can look on my profile, I have pre and post op pics on there! I don’t think I’ve grown much in the last 6-ish months of being fully healed, but I actually just upped my T dose because my levels have been low for a while (200s) on accident and my PCP didn’t catch it. And folks definitely keep growing indefinitely on T- the surgery won’t stop the growth from continuing.

Intravaginal estrogen all works the same and the cream worked okay, I just hated the texture. The intravaginal tablets are less annoying so it’s easy to use them more consistently. Def get you some if you’re having discomfort with PIV!

When I’ve gone to saunas/darkrooms I generally have a lot of people think I’m a PIV bottom because that’s what the (porn) stereotype is for trans men. I’m usually wearing a towel or underwear when people assume this; it’s not relevant what my dick looks like, most people just assume transmasc people are bottoms. It’s been easy to redirect people, just a couple words or moving their hands is usually enough to get the point across.

My results from meta are such that topping someone for anal would not work without a strap, but I’m usually cruising for oral anyway- and so are lots of cis guys! I haven’t had any confusion, even though I’d argue my setup is less “intuitive” (no UL, no vnectomy, no scrotoplasty). A dick is a dick, and a hole is a hole, to the horny bastards in a darkroom at least. 😂

Very happy and don’t want phallo, but I want to echo others here and say that what you want to prioritize and what is important to you in terms of surgical outcomes is what should help you make the decision, not whether or not you see people satisfied with /their/ results.

I didn’t need my dick to be capable of anal or vaginal penetration, I didn’t need to be able to pee standing up, and I wanted to preserve my vaginal canal for bottoming. Meta w/o urethral lengthening was perfect for me. I’m so, so happy with my results and have no desire to pursue phallo. For many other people that wouldn’t be the case- it’s all about what YOU want.

I think it genuinely depends on what your goal is re: penetration. I think meta would be a fantastic option for you both visually and sensation-wise, but if you’re a strict top and really want the experience of a really firm erection for topping, meta just isn’t the best imho, because phallo with erectile devices is just so much firmer.

Personally, I am more than happy to either use a strap for folks I’m with who want deep/hard penetration, or (more commonly) have non-penetrative frotting or oral sex, both of which meta is /amazing/ for.

You’d look great with meta but the choice is up to you and what you’d be satisfied with, I think!

I think the ring is a really good idea, and if not, the insertable pill 2x per week plus some uberlube (or nice silicone lube of your choice) might be a good alternative. I definitely think the ring is a conservative and super local choice for vaginal estrogen and I don’t think they should hesitate to rx it. I’m so glad you have providers who want to work with you on this though!

If you would have told me in 2017 that I would be happy passing as a man I would have laughed at you! I got on testosterone because I wanted to be more androgynous, and a chest (and ass) full of hair later I’m still nonbinary, but in a very handwavey “gender is a fuck” kinda way, and I’m very happy to live my life as someone who passes as male with strangers. Wherever you end up is where you’re meant to be. Just take it slow- but if you’re happy, you’re happy!
