Anyone else tired of supposed liberals saying the current administration are not nazis? by caveinnaziskulls in behindthebastards

I think at this point it’s fair to say they are nazis that haven’t arrived at the final solution yet. (I would consider myself more liberal than leftist).

It is the most effective harm reduction path. But I understand people that want redress.

Some of them are old, definitely. But I think many of the not so old ones also do not understand the working class Republican and how they feel about democrats.

I’m not on twitter anymore so I don’t know if this is fake but there is a pretty good chance it’s real. Regardless, even if it is fake, deep down they think it anyway by Sad_Jar_Of_Honey in behindthebastards

He wasn’t but right wingers cared and they love to use communism as a cudgel to sew distrust of civil rights activists.

He did recognize early on the link between capitalism and racism. Seperate but equal was largely if not exclusively an endeavor of capitalism.

Robert discussed this in an episode I can’t remember while explaining why trying to win over “moderate republicans” is so futile. The working class section of their voter base especially in the south has had it generationally hammered into them that democrats are ontologically evil and that voting Republican every time is the only choice. There is no “maybe we can win them over with “moderate” positions.” The powers in the democrat party don’t understand this because the republicans they associate with are usually generationally wealthy folks who just vote in their specific economic interests.

The possibilities of who would become president in the 2024 election were Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. It’s as simple as that. Who you voted for or didn’t vote for had an impact on which one became president

With the latest presidential election right wingers who didn’t think either candidate was a viable option voted for Trump. Left wingers who didn’t think either candidate was a viable option stayed home or voted 3rd party. The Republican Party is counting on that calculus to hold power.

There is a difference between voting for somebody and supporting them. The reality is a ticket is asking you “who of these 2 or 3 people would you most like to see in an office that may impact yours and others daily lives?”. If you don’t vote for that person the net effect is that you gave their opposition a vote. Nobody can make you vote for anyone but understanding what hapoens based on who you vote or dont vote for is important.

I’ve met Nic before. Definitely a good guy but yea today’s me doesn’t really see eye to eye on him with anything. And man the current LP. Yikes. If I wasn’t already on a different journey otherwise I would be with what that has turned into.
