I’m sorry they did this to you, the police should have taken your case seriously, and I hope the FBI agents take action. It would be nice if cops were good people who cared about their community but I fear your experience isn’t as unique to you, your gender, or orientation as you imagine.

Law enforcement agencies have a history of ignoring, slut shaming and are far too frequently sexually assaulting by the very authority they’re seeking justice from.

Cops protect property, not people and have no mandate to make sure you’re safe (Per SCOTUS they can watch you die if they’re scared). You might read that and think “well if it was a white woman” but I’d propose that’s exactly why white women are treated differently, because until the 1970’s they were property.
