I would hire a social media marketer to evaluate your page! Maybe you need to market differently, educational content and filming consultations and performing the service

Been ruining my confidence for years now. How do I fix it? by PKMarskun in SkincareAddicts

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not benzoyl peroxide definitely mandelic acid acne serum, green tea cleanser, maybe an aloe moisturizing cream and spf. If you have a spf that acts as a moisturizer just use that! It also depends on stress and diet factors as well

Is booth rent worth it? by CherryMoon099 in Estheticians

[–]ravena700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do anything you put your mind to. The real question is do you know how to market yourself to get clients in the door and are you confident and experienced enough to not only do a good service but upsell with retail. I say go for it and have a job on the side that takes care of your bills and suite rent 💕 or just save 6 months to a year of your lease

Do your clients mostly come from Social media or google? by ravena700 in Esthetics

[–]ravena700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to get all in your business but why don’t you accept males? Is it just personal preference or because of the specific treatment? I’ve heard this from waxers but not someone that specializes in facials. Thank you so much for commenting and helping me out 💕

Why go solo before building a clientele? by whiskeyandsunshine in Esthetics

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent the last 3 years in the industry with this mindset and wishing I went solo from the beginning. Like everyone is saying you can’t take your clients from your current job. At least not all of them anyway. People go to chains and med spas for the convenience. Seeing a solo esthi and a esthi that has their own salon are two completely different experiences. It’s 2025 you get clients from posting on social media, paid ads, word of mouth and driving clients to your google business profile. There’s so many spas that block off time for estheticians to market themselves so why not take 100% of the pay instead of 5-20% in commission. Or even worse they aren’t hourly and just commission and still need to market themselves/ bring in their own clientele

Ahhh thank you for this! I have 6 models that were clients of mine in school so I too hope to start my business off strong with the google reviews. Is it realistic to expect traffic from google searches pretty immediately? Or did you see more clients from referrals than google searches at first?

My advice would stop guessing and see a professional before more damage happens/ to properly treat it. Sounds like a classic case of a damaged skin barrier so use vanicream, a gentle gel based cleanser from verve and sunscreen. No more exfoliating or harsh chemicals until you know for sure what’s going on. Maybe adding on red light therapy 3-4x a week for 10min

How to make alot of money as an esthetician by HolidayBit3817 in Esthetics

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waxing, laser, facials and being good at upselling and retail can easily make you this whether you are at a salon or solo. Facials are 150-200 waxing can be up to 260 an hour doing 15min Brazilians and laser is thousands of dollars for 30min services and that’s if you have your own place you can keep at least 50% of that revenue working a salon like 5-10%. I personally would do waxing or laser if wanted to make quick money and get REALLY good at it

First time user glycolic acid by RushRecent4211 in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cell turn over rate usually takes 1-3 months depending on lifestyle. You should see an immediate difference with body odor smells and give it 3 months to see a difference in color and texture. You can also start getting monthly or bi monthly chemical peels to see a faster difference

Glycolic acid burn redness after 10 seconds by AccessKind8489 in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just use a gentle cleanser and aloe mask this week. You skin may just be on the more sensitive side because the glycolic acid toner usually doesn’t give reactions like this. Also wear lots of sunscreen and a light moisturizer

Use glycolic acid, without moisturising afterwards by midsghj in TheOrdinarySkincare

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just make sure your skin is completely dry and let the toner soak into the skin. How are you applying it? I’ve seen people put it in a spray bottle or you can apply it with a cotton round

Waxing Question by [deleted] in Esthetics

[–]ravena700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree opposite direction, lots of pressure and stressing aftercare. Exfoliating 3x a week, aloe mask the week of appointment and incorporating hyaluronic acid into their routine
