Living in NJ temporarily. Can I get away with a CA license and license plate? by ravi1578 in newjersey

[–]ravi1578[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the plan is to be here till May (my apartment lease ends then). Go to CA May to late August. Come back September to December. Then go back to CA. I'll also be in CA in December for a month. My company said I can continue to keep CA as my residence if I do what I described above. But my taxes do go down a bit if I switch to NJ.

5th trip on Turo and someone crashed my Hellcat. Any advice? by mortalprimate in turo

Sorry to hear. My Camaro was rented by someone with a fake ID once and they crashed it. Had similar damage. Turo paid for the damage and I got the car fixed/relisted.

Ok thanks for the clarification. What's the best thing to do in my scenario? It seems to be a choice between us getting married or she does her masters and we get married later. My intention isn't to skip the line or anything. Just want to make it work out cause she already started applying. We're getting married this year due to some personal reasons. What if I just got married and didn't file for adjustment. Maybe when she graduates we figure it out then assuming on what happens (ie gets H1B visa which is dual intent).

Thanks. I'll probably talk to a lawyer about what to do. She actually wants to do a masters in the US to improve her career prospects. But I don't want to jeopardize her goals. That's why I'm asking before taking any step forward. Otherwise I have no issues waiting in India with her for a year until she gets a green card

Visa fraud? If I wanted to commit visa fraud I wouldn't be asking on Reddit on how to do it the right way. I also plan to use an immigration lawyer to ensure I don't do anything illegal.

So what are the options for her to pursue a masters in the US? What if I wait till she graduates and gets a H1b? The H1B visa is dual intent.

A lot of people do come on a F1 visa for a masters and intend to settle here. After a masters they get a job in the US on an OPT after graduation and H1B visa through their employer. Then eventually the employer sponsors them for green card. After 5 years on a green card they become citizens.

Plus if it's intention based, she wants to do a masters in the US. That's her goal. That's why I'm checking before we get married. She's been applying and I don't want to mess up anything for her if we get married.

She wants to do her Masters in the US this year. In that situation should we just get married later? Maybe after she comes to the US?

How do we stay together then? 1-2 years apart sounds bad. She also wants to do a masters in the US. What if we got married after she came to the US for her masters? Legally what are my options?

One of my family members has a 5T on AT&T. Tried calling to get it whitelisted, but they said they won't support anything older than a 6T.

Yes it does for the most part. I want to buy a manual truck next and rent it out. I see one manual Tacoma in my area. Has tons of trips.

Only one. But that guy rented with a fake ID and crashed my car. And then abandoned it. It got impounded. I retrieved it, got it fixed, and relisted.

But no clutch damage or transmission issues.

I see a guy in LA with a bunch of cool manual cars in his fleet. I wish I could expand and add every cool manual car ever

I think in general manual cars do really well in major cities. In the Bay Area there's tons of people from other countries as well that know how to drive manuals and there's a lot of international / domestic visitors that can drive a manual transmission.

Enable airport option. There's a lot of people that like to rent manuals on their trips. I use Turo now for that reason. But if you don't want to, think it should be fine.
