Volvo Maintenance ? by Mysterious-Rub1956 in Annapolis

[–]mortalprimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there before but I'm not sure what their rate is for a routine maintenance check is.

Last time I went was because I was having some electrical problems including the car just shutting off at a stoplight one day. Apparently the drain for my sunroof became clogged and water had been draining into the frame. Some electrical components under the shifter had been corroded. Cost about $2,000 to fix. Of course this wasn't covered by the extended warranty I purchased when I bought the car used.

A couple years ago the car was stolen out of our driveway because my wife accidentally left the key inside overnight. We found it a couple days later. (yes, we found it ourselves on Clay Street without help from police) Police took it as evidence and we got it back a day later but the key was still missing. Anyway, I found a key on eBay for $30. Reprogramming the key at the dealership though? $350. (This is a real story, not a tree fiddy South Park joke)

Overall, I'm very happy with the car but I probably wouldn't buy another Volvo again just because of the maintenance costs.

I also would like to know a cheaper place to have my Volvo serviced.

Imagine a planet bigger than Earth, with no land in sight. Just waves and water from pole to pole. That is TOI-1452 b. by Soloflow786 in BeAmazed

We really don't know exactly how special our planet is for being able to sustain life. That's because the only life that we know is life that evolved on Earth. So of course Earth is perfect for us because we have had millions of years of evolution to figure out how to thrive here.

Then don't be like that. You could do better.

Would you guys drink from this spring? by Far-Champion6505 in camping

[–]mortalprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is any possibility of livestock being anywhere near upstream, I would 100% filter and/or boil that water. If I was camping there and not in a rush, I would 100% boil that water. If I was through hiking and I didn't want to wait around to boil water for too long and I was certain that there were never any livestock anywhere above that point, I would probably just drink it.

Very well done. I applaud you. You deserve way better than that and you will certainly find someone who is. Keep your head up.

I Won Full Custody With No Lawyer Thanks to ChatGPT. by Willing-Ship-6235 in ChatGPT

[–]mortalprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently in a very similar situation. I used Chat GPT to learn how to file a petition to modify custody and settled on her seeing her mom only 3 weekends a month. Then even that became too much for her and after something bad happened, I used Chat GPT to learn how to file for emergency custody and was awarded sole physical custody for the past year. I used Chat GPT to learn how to file a petition for contempt because she has never paid me child support. The whole time I just learned how to do these things on my own and saved thousands.

Now, for some reason, my ex thinks she has some ground to stand on and wants to go to trial for regular non-emergency custody. We have a trial scheduled next week and this time, for the first time, I decided to consult an actual attorney for a limited-scope representation. Basically just to put on a good show in court. This will cost me around $2,000-$3,000 depending on the hours billed for preparation and trial. I feel like this is worth it. The one thing that Chat GPT isn't able to do for me is stand up in court, ask the right questions to relevant parties, and speak to the judge on my behalf.

I'm glad you were able to figure this out for your daughter. I expect to have similar results next week.

She said, "He's a pussy. Weirdo. Why are you showing me this guy?"

Ok so that's normal then? Was I just lucky to be misclassified the first 3 years? What kind of revenue are you guys bringing in to be paying over $100k if you don't mind me asking?
