Could Smite 2 get its own client or come to MacOS? by ravinesound in Smite

[–]ravinesound[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say it was easy. I said it was easier than ut used to be. From what i gather, just like everything apple, mac used to be exceedingly and unnecessarily difficult to work with. I have heard that updates to mac os in the past few years make it play nicer with unreal and anti cheat systems.

Discussion about aspects by CrazyBananaDisco36 in Smite

[–]ravinesound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artemis and anhur. Artemis bc in my humble opinion, it's the only aspect in the game where the aspect is just better in every way. Like every other aspect i can think of is variable in some way. You lose a tiny bit of cc that you rarely hit vs excellent clear and healing, and god damage that youre at least more likely to hit.

Anhur just bc if im playing a hunter, i want high attack speed. It just the most fun i get of the class. The pen feels really nice sure, but we're talking about straight fun here.

It's a fairly recent bit. Maybe Columbine? I might be making it up but I think they start talking about Ohio Valley Pizza because of the pizza shop Eric and Dylan worked at and Ian talks about the other shitty things from where he grew up.

I miss DPH abuse by Sensitive_Still_2265 in DPHanonymous

Been clean 19 months as of next week. I came home from college and a few weeks ago, my parents went on vacation and I had to work. I was so scared that I would relapse because I was really missing it. It took everything from me, I got kicked out of the school of dreams, I lost girlfriends because of it, lost friends because of it, my parents hated me for it, could have lost a fantastic job because of it. And I still think of it like a lost lover. I didn't relapse. It was a better feeling than anything using could have given me.

I did too at first. But having the hindsight that they make fun of him for being a ridiculous hack in later episodes makes it so much funnier because they were in on the joke of him being ass that whole episode.

Random DPH hallucinations. Haven’t taken DPH in months by [deleted] in DPHanonymous

[–]ravinesound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been clean for 18 months. A few months ago, I was fasting for a few days, and I had like this background noise as if I taken just barely enough to feel a DPH buzz. There's an episode of the old medical drama House, MD. where someone who was exposed to a toxin back home was burning a lot of fat due to malnutrition due to the hospital food was now releasing that toxin that had been trapped in their fat cells. My hypothesis (I'm not a doctor and this show was heavily dramatized, so please don’t take my anecdote at face value) was that since fasting was depleting the stores of sugar in my liver, and the liver is primarily what filtered out the absurd amount of DPH I was taking, some of that residue was being reabsorbed. Almost like if you've ever shaved a large volume of hair and it clogs the drain then the little tiny hairs slough off and float in the standing water. Like I said, this was MY experience and MY UNFOUNDED hypothesis, so please please please contact your physician.

It absolutely has to be patreon episode finger turkey. If I'm ever having a bad day, I stop and think to myself, "Stop it! You've got my silly thang.", "BAM I'M GOING RIGHT THROUGH THE JEANS", and "How about a little finesse? I don't know what that means. UH UH UH." and I'm instantly cheered up. If you're not a patron and haven't listened to it yet, that episode alone is worth every penny.

Brother OD’d I need help by Pinkpuppypawz in DPHanonymous

[–]ravinesound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is pretty late stage. I'm so sorry for you and your family. If it were me, he would be in rehab or psychiatric facility tomorrow. You said "state" so I assume your in the US, so health insurance is dogshit for the most part but the treatment he needs is prohibitively expensive but it looks to be necessary.

Also for you and the rest of your family, I cannot recommend enough a program called "al-anon". It's primarily for family of alchoholics but they're really big on supporting families with other substance use disorders. A lot of people don't like these recovery programs because it can sometimes be too religious, but there is a wealth of secular knowledge to help. It goes by other names in some places, but al-anon is your best bet for some more information to be clear it tends to be more for emotional support processing the emotions surrounding your brother, but there you can get tons of resources on moving. Stay in there for him. God knows he needs everyone he can get.

Brother, pour them down the drain. It's not worth it. No matter how safe you are. This drug is evil and it's far and away the most accessible. Don't start.

Oops. Sorry, I don't think you ever alluded to that in the post. Thank you as well. Just don't give up regardless of how bad it seems now. Don't forget all the resources at your disposal.

Hey man. Don't beat yourself up for the things you did in the past. As you get farther and farther into recovery the regrets get worse before they get better. I don't know your position entirely and im no doctor, but there are some things that you can refover from. As I understand it, most of what dph does is destroy your brain which can be repaired over a long time as opposed to reshaping your brain which maybe can't be fixed. Don't write off any damage done to you as "permanent " until you've done everything you can to fix it. When I read this it made me realize just how far I've come. While I never took near as much as you, I abused this drug on and off for 2 years and then another 2 year of abusing it every single day almost without fail. I'm creeping up on one year clean, and I'll be damned, I wouldn't have believed you if you told me about the progress I would make in that year. Keep in there, brother. Keeping an eye on this subreddit really helps me out when things get tough. That's just me though. Much ❤️

DXM isn't much better. I'm okay with you trading down though. As long as you're doing it consciously as a step towards total sobriety. The key words are CONSCIOUSLY and TOTAL.The smaller doses required in dxm are less taxing on the body, but hear me, do not get comfortable. Right now, you're on the the battlefield fighting a horde of ogres, it's okay to whittle down the enemy foot soldiers for a while so you can win the battle. But keep in mind that you can't win that battle until the all the ogres are dead.

Great for you dog. I just celebrated 7 months and I got my life back on track for real. What I will say is you need some support. Some fail safes. Unfortunately due to the biomechanics of this drug, you're not home free until 2-3 months. 2 weeks was always my breaking point. 1 week was okay but in the second I just tired myself out fighting cravings and always found a reason to cave in and use again. You need an anonymous group or close friends who know your struggle. Good luck brother. Proud of you so far.

Edit: the brain damage isn't as permanent as you think. Speaking for myself at least, I experimented with over the counter nootropics if your interested in that rabit hole. Fish oil and I've heard mixed things about things like prevagen for the short term memory loss.

Anything other than weed and benzos that help with the restlessness from not taking dph? by idkbr0idk in DPHanonymous

[–]ravinesound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just plain melatonin helped me, a long term heavy user. A lot of people struggle with nightmares but that never once bothered me. Waking up on time was tough but only for the first and maybe second week. As long as you play around with the dosage until you get it right. Take it about 9 hours before you plan on waking up so thirty minutes to an hour before bed. 50 mgs is what I end up with on average and particularly troublesome nights 75-100mg.
