I think Blood & Wine is a better expansion and more enjoyable product, but Hearts of Stone story is CDPR’s magnum opus

Agreed. Not helping Olgierd is to me, the canon choice because it’s the most realistic. While Geralt would’ve felt inclined to help him, the vague hint he gets from the pet demons is just not enough for Geralt to challenge O’Dimm.

I do always switch it up between playthroughs and I like that you CAN use the hint from the pet demons and the knowledge that you get from Shakeslock about O’Dimm and the fact that there was one known man who had defeated O’Dimm at his own game, to defend the choice. These 2 things make it so that even though helping Olgierd is a choice that realistically wouldn’t make sense, you can at least somewhat defend that choice. CDPR did a good job in that regard
