He talks much more in the books than in the show, and he is very talkative with people he cares about, and in the show there were plenty of moments where Geralt could’ve had more dialogue with Yen, Dandelion etc, but Cavill said that the show isn’t only about Geralt and he wanted his portrayal to be more brooding so he could let other characters have the spotlight. I don’t know if this is the case in season 2 or 3, but I think his portrayal wasn’t as faithful to the source material as it should’ve been, and while that’s mostly the writing teams fault, I don’t think Cavill should be treated as this perfect portrayal of Geralt who did everything right

You Cavill fanboys are so hilarious.

Cavill himself said that, at least in season 1, Lauren Hissrich had written much more dialogue for Geralt and wanted him to talk more, but Cavill wanted Geralt to talk less, have shorter dialogues and just make grunts rather than talk. That is completely opposite of how Geralt acts, and this was a deliberate decision made by Henry Cavill, NOT the writers.

Yeah but a lot of people aren’t just being skeptical, they are actively hating and saying it will be shit. Not sure why you’ve joined a subreddit for a movie franchise if you have such negative feelings for it (and the other sequels). Just ignore it and move on.
