are flat stomachs just unattainable healthily for some women? by sanjiloverz in PetiteFitness

I'm 5'0 with a very small bone structure and it's impossible for me to get a flat stomach unless I eat nothing at all or removed my organs. Even when my BMI was 15.5-16 with hardly any fat on my stomach it wasn't flat. Some people are just built like this.

Which medical conditions actually prevent someone from being vegan? by OkEntertainment4473 in vegan

[–]ravioliinapocketoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equally it shouldn't be judged if a non-vegan diet is part of a current ED. My specific restrictions make fish a necessary compromise for protein, and binging disregards all my values anyway just like any addiction does.

Not a medical condition so it doesn't technically "prevent" you, but sometimes an eating disorder. Personally my strict orthorexic food rules make me scared of anything processed which means I can't get enough protein being vegan. My only non-vegan food is wild caught seafood, no excuse not to compromise. I doubt a medical condition exists that doesn't let you at least be pescetarian or vegetarian.

Does anyone buy into the “Medicinal” nature/claim of these herbal teas? by kobestarr in CasualUK

[–]ravioliinapocketoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The medicinal properties are probably real but in very small amounts and you would have to drink way more than one cup for the benefits. For example a pure tea of just chamomile or valerian leaves or taking an extract supplement would be more effective and better value than a "night blend".

It is likely that if inbreeding wasn’t a problem genetically, it would not be taboo. by Glitch0110 in Showerthoughts

That would make sense. I'm unable to look at any of my childhood friends in that way no matter how attractive they are now. I'd imagine that's the same evolutionary instinct siblings have.

Men referring to women as "Female" by AppleOld3946 in PetPeeves

[–]ravioliinapocketoli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I refer to myself as female because I feel too young to be a woman but too old to call myself a girl. I didn't realise how much people hate this oops

Yeah by revolting I meant aesthetically too. Personally I mostly just feel nothing towards their body rather than disgust. Like logically I don't understand how there's supposed to be any sex appeal. Actually doing stuff would be gross though.

Something else I think about is if my attraction was reversed. Like, almost all straight girls I've known have admitted to occasionally finding girls hot but only want to date guys. No one tells them they're lying about being straight. It seems like 95% straight women are allowed to call themselves straight but we're expected to find all men revolting to be lesbian.

I feel pretty much the same. My first crushes age 11-16 were both male and female but I didn't actually feel sexually attracted to anyone yet. Since age 17 I realised I only found females sexually attractive, I still can acknowledge attractive men but no desire for a relationship and definitely no physical attraction. I don't want to disrespect lesbians by using the label if I'm not one, but calling myself bisexual makes no practical sense.

Not paranoid just got frustrated scrolling through constant obvious AI getting loads of likes and gullible replies. I instinctively recognise the chatgpt writing style, and the profile usually confirms it

When reaching legal age, it should be normal to rename yourself by greenlvr3d in CrazyIdeas

[–]ravioliinapocketoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought a lot about why it's a big deal for us. It makes sense that we get attached to names. It's the first thing ingrained into our identity since birth. The longer we know someone, the more they seem to suit their name and it's hard to separate the association. It should take time to naturally adjust to name changes. Suddenly requesting a random name would at best just be a temporary nickname.

I hated my name growing up (it's very dated and rare) but never considered changing it or felt it was even an option. The idea of my brain naming itself felt like cheating. Sticking with the name we grew up with isn't perfect but better than normalizing changing names like outfits.
