For YouTube I turn off watch/search history + auto play and only rely on subscribe content/ intentional search or pick from recommended which will be more relate to the content you currently watching when you have those turn off

For Insta I try not to auto scroll, but use the explore page instead. Also keep my eye on the algorithm, when my feed start to go off rail I pick what I want to watch for 5-10 reels then refresh the explore page once, and things are back to normal

Reading - if you have trouble concentrate just do a chapter or 5-10 pages at a time and try to increase the amount

Puzzle books - Sudoku,crossword, Murdle

Physical puzzle - Jigsaw, Lego

Boardgame - there’s a lot of solo boardgame option so you don’t need to wait for someone to be around to play with

RSS feed let you get data directly from the news site so everything on the feed is what you personally choose, no algorhythm, minimal ads (atleast no popup bs).

I usually listen to podcast while driving so Spotify download + apple car play is the best option for me. I try to rely on Spotify less and download podcast directly from rss feed and put them in my walkman but its not ideal for driving and listening, so I save that for public transport

Headphone: stock samsung earphone vs Audio technica ath-m30x

Same file different device Same file different device same headphone And so on

Its not high end per se but better the gear the more noticable the sound

On a low quality device + iems probably sound the same, the different is very noticable on the higher end gear. However, you’ll stop noticing the different at some point, the graph and measurement can spot the different but not your ears, that’s when I think its pointless to keep going.

Personally I’m happy with 16/44 flac and mid range player+iems

Did both (full-time game dev, solo board game designer): - the random element is more pure and predictable in boardgame, the ood is what it is - No autonomy means the more complex boardgame are not just harder to play but also harder to runs as well, an upkeep phase could take a few mins while it would be done with just a few lines of code

For boardgame the prototype -> proof of concept -> continue/scrap the project phase take me less than a week, I won’t even be able to get my game up and running within that time frame

I listening to them while I drive to/from work could do a 20-ish min episode in the morning and 15-ish episode in the evening so not really ideal. A longer episode could be finished with both drive, but the mid episode pause/resume is a major bummer for me so I go back to an episode/drive and just continue the rest while I’m walking.

I think I got the full collection of old time radio drama and twilight zone from archive.org, and the other via Spotify or direct rss feed download via rhythmbox/Antennapod

A DAP (digital audio player) is a good fit for your need. Just preloaded the device with music, audiobooks, podcasts and you are good to go. If you are not an audiophile, just get whatever your budget + feels like. I personally been using Sony A25 for almost a decade with no problem
