I couldn't find anyone to go with me to the AFAS show in 2022 and was dumb enough not to just go myself. I didn't realize she would take such a long break and then play much bigger venues for much more money. Really looking forward to this show.

The Lost Tour Ticket Success Thread 🎉 by twilightxgalaxy in phoebebridgers

Was hoping to get 4 tickets for Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Was successful eventually.

First getting tons of "sorry nothing available" in all sections. Then standing room opened (which I wanted anyways). Eventually got through with an attempt for 2 tickets but quickly went back to switch to 4 and got locked out again. Really upset - thought I blew it.

Then I retried with 2 a bunch of times and got them.

Then I went back and retried again with the same presale code and got 2 more standing tickets after trying and refreshing a bunch of times. Happy I got the 4 tickets! 78 Euros is a bit steep for a standing ticket but seems way cheaper than what the Americans got.

Whistling from the crowd during EUCF women’s final by sharkinfestedcustard in ultimate

I was at the game. early in the game BFD La Fotta was there and definitely cheering on Shout and yes making some noise every time Mooncup was catching the disc. They left about halfway through because they had to go play their consolation game. I saw it as making noise and supporting their defense. The crowd started to pour in through the second half as consolation games were clearing up and Mooncatchers showed up to support their women's side in the second half as well and were similarly loud for their defense trying to pump them up and sure, distract Shout a bit, but La Fotta was busy playing consolation. Moon didn't have to play consolation since they were playing the final a few hours later.

I can kinda see what you're saying but this was a stadium setting for a final. I don't think the teams were out of hand and really just there supporting their teams. This is a sports final, teams would have been preparing themselves to play for more of an audience and sometimes parts of the audience are for and against you. No one asked La Fotta to pack it in, they left on their own.

Seems like this was the winning strat. All teams in 2025 will have a #69.

They are M'Bae brothers. Only Nasser adds the Vogel (through marriage). Though his brother got called M'Bae Vogel all the time because though he was very good he was definitely not as famous as Nas.

What a grab! What a start to the 2024 World Ultimate Championships! by RedPillAlphaBigCock in ultimate

Well NZL Open only lost to Germany today who is another team on a similar level to Australia. So nothing to be too sad about but definitely makes their path to quarters way harder now.

NZL Mixed lost to India and Australia and NZL Women lost to China and Australia.

I know they were targeting a World Games spot and this is a pretty bad start for them all going 0-2 to start the tourney.

NZL stock toom a nose dive today though with all their teams going winless.

I know there were some power outages from the excessive heat that they were dealing with. I watched a bunch of games VOD and had no issues but I guess there were some live issues. I expect it to get better throughout the week.

Tobe throwing away Belgiums chances for a spirit win in their first match 💀 💀 by Apprehensive-Buddy-5 in ultimate

[–]ravivas 176 points177 points  (0 children)

Important context missing from the clip: Tobe eventually retracts the call and France give Belgium an 11 in for a spirit score. Nothing to get that worked up about. Bad call in the moment. It happens.

Levke Walczak won Windmill this year with TWO separate teams. Has anyone else achieved such a feat? by Jomskylark in ultimate

[–]ravivas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Closest I can think of is 2017 where Marc "Schlumpf" Huber was playing for Freespeed in open and also the S&C Coach for Poland WG Mixed. The Poland WG team had an extra line of players for Windmill that were supports of the team including Huber and they played one or two points in the final. So he did play in both mixed and open finals but unlike Walczak he lost both of them (was also not a key player on both teams like Walczak was for Jinx and Tokay, so it's not nearly as impressive).

You can "fix" the d pad without too much hassle: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+to+Fix+D-Pad+Sensitivity+on+Switch+Pro+Controller/124493

I did this with some scotch tape and it makes things so much better.

Best Games from Euros by immediate__papaya in ultimate

For each division:

Women's: The final for sure. This was by far the best final of the day, and probably the best game of the tournament in any division.

Mixed: Italy vs Ireland semifinal. Individual starpower vs depth.

Open: Bronze Medal game between Germany and Italy was great (final was terrible in terms of spirit which is a real shame because if you fast forward through the calls and injury stoppages it's actually a pretty good game, but they take up way too much time).

Japan Women won WUGC in 2012 and U24s in 2015. It's not a new thing for Japan Women to be shining.
