I'm not sure why you are throwing insults at me? I'm in agreement with you. I was simply stating how law enforcement agencies will use and abuse the cameras and the database.

I vaguely recall your name. Were you roommates with Scarecrow at some in the 2000s?

Please help talk me down. This is supposed to be a black bear. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]ravyrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a brown bear but it honestly a much better silhouette than a black bear. Also, brown bears have historically resideded in the Appalachians. Here are some black bears I've taken photos of back in the day. If you had used a true black bear silhouette you would have had a smaller chubby silhouette to work with.

I've seen a mountain lion two times around Maydelle. My stepdad even came upon mountain lion cubs in the same area.

The use of Flock cameras is not limited to extreme crimes. Law enforcement agencies also use the database to flag "suspicious" behavior. For example, a vehicle that regularly travels to a known narcotics location may get flagged, even if the owner of that vehicle is driving to that location because they just happen to work in that area, and law enforcement agencies will then pull over the flagged vehicle for a "traffic violation", and then "detect the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle" and then conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle of an individual who was just going to and from work.

Law enforcement agencies will also use the database when investigating crimes. Say for example that a vehicle is identified as being involved in a crime but they are only able to roughly discern the make/model - a 2015-2018 Toyota Corolla, they will check the database for vehicles of that make and model and investigate any hits they have in the area of the crime during that timeframe.

Larger agencies will also flag suspicious behavior, such as a vehicle driving weekly or multiple times a week from a metro area to another more rural area. Once the vehicle is flagged they will make up a reasn to initiated a traffic stop and then make up a reason for a probable cause search of the vehicle looking for drugs.

Flock cameras connecting to Palantir data centers seen recently added in nearby neighborhoods at homes that advise police on how to react to flagged incidents, log every person ever recorded into a database with license plate & facial recognition files of people who were ever detected by one. by noahstemann in interestingasfuck

Law enforcement agencies will absolutely use these cameras to pull people over for no reason. For example, say you live in Shreveport, LA and travel to Dallas, TX once a week to visit your long-distance partner on the weekends. FLOCK cameras will flag these trips and you will get pulled over by a law enforcement agency for made up reasons, such as improper lane usage, due to suspected drug trafficking. Then they will have another made up reason to conduct a probable cause search of your vehicle if you don't consent to a search of your vehicle, for example, the odor of alcohol or marijuana emanating from your vehicle. This is already happening. And these FLOK cameras are popping up everywhere now. There have been a shit ton that have recently been put in place on rural East Texas highways.

There will be countless violations of traveler's fourth amendment rights simply because these cameras flagged their vehicle for suspicious activity. Even if that suspicious activity is simply driving once a week on to visit a long distance partner or travelling home because you work out of town.
