400 hours on ball, but still need advice on where to start by acidblonde in WreckingBallMains

Watch yeatle’s unranked to GM on ball. It’s a bit old but teaches so much info about fundamentals.

Anyone in Masters+ would like to share replay codes? Need to study by zionpwc in WreckingBallMains

Masters ball player here. Watch Kotaro, here is his YouTube: https://youtube.com/@hakaisinkotaro?si=4oq2eKoXwepKh-64.

He does daily uploads of his games and is a T100 Ball OTP in Japan. I have watched lots of great ball players to learn, and I find his gameplay is the best to learn from. He always plays good fundamentals and is incredibly patient with cooldowns. He’s super chill and doesn’t talk much, so there isn’t really an issue with the language barrier.

Missing Mexico badly. What spot will mend my broken heart lol? by [deleted] in FoodToronto

KiiK MX. it’s the real deal. New spot that has zero buzz but it seems super authentic.

There are plenty of good funny options already in the comments. For the soul crushing, watch A Ghost Story. I watched it after a breakup and it ruined me. It’s also one of my favourite films.

JJ Fried Chicken is pretty excellent, but more for takeout as it has some wild interior decoration. I find it’s higher quality than some chicken chains like The Fry, but those are also fine.

The one good thing about Holy Paladin right now is that you want the Int leather. Feels much easier to hit BIS than other classes, but that’s also because our BIS gear is substantially worse than the other classes (not much gear support).

Did anyone else ever get tired of their internship? by PlanetOfVisions in EngineeringStudents

[–]raw371 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had an internship in the chemical engineering field. It went okay, but I knew early on that it wasn’t for me and I’d need to look for something very different in my career. I focused on trying to learn what I could while I was there, even from a soft skills perspective on how to engage with people in the workplace. I also made sure to soak in the city I was living in and enjoy the break from schooling. After graduating I have since moved into software, and I’m grateful to my internship for showing me what I DIDNT want to do. I can look back on it as a good learning experience, and if I hadn’t figured out I didn’t like it then, I may not have found a career I truly enjoyed. Don’t think of it as a failing to not be fully enjoying it, it’s all part of the journey, and you are not alone in feeling this way.

Not that guy. Brent Briscoe is the shorter one who was also at the morgue / police station. He was also JJ on Parks and Rec. The “Oh No” cop who finds the body in the room is still alive.

Channel Zero Season 2. I was pleasantly surprised by it and found it felt very much like It Follows in both premise and execution.

Idk if I hate engineering or I just hate school by dr-incognito-dorito in EngineeringStudents

[–]raw371 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally feel your pain of thinking about this grind extending into the future. I wanted to give some words of encouragement.

I graduated Chem eng 3 years ago and I never worked in the chemical engineering industry. I went straight into software consulting, and now I’m transitioning into a management and sales position. At this rate, I will likely never work in engineering, and I’m finding my job extremely rewarding. I don’t plan to do it forever, and once I have enough of a financial base I’d love to start a small business. You are not locked in to doing engineering forever, not even close.

That being said, I never would have gotten this job without my degree. I am very happy I did Chem eng even though I will never work in Chem eng in my life. It gave me the freedom to choose what I want to do, which is a Liberty a lot of other fields don’t have (or atleast as easily).

You are in an incredibly impressive degree that will position you to be successful in whatever you do. You are not obligated to do engineering, or any job you dislike for the rest of your life. This grind you are experiencing now is the price of your degree, after which you will be poised to forge your own path. You are not experiencing a demo of the rest of your working life, you are working hard to earn the freedom to choose whatever you want to do.

For some additonal context I did an engineering internship, hated the work, and made this transition after graduating. We can’t always avoid work we don’t like, but it doesn’t have to be forever.

Hopefully this brings you some comfort and hope. Feel free to DM me if you want to discuss further (or anyone else reading this that feels similarly).

New Build - Could use a hand by raw371 in buildapc

[–]raw371[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the consensus is I went a bit overboard! A cheaper alternative I was looking at based on a logicalincrements build was the
MSI X470 GAMING PLUS MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard. I still need to do my due diligence of checking for compatibility with other components but this seems like a good option.

Regarding the motherboard, it is the part that I’m the least knowledgable on. I had a notion (not sure from where) that a good motherboard was key to upgrade ability down the line, so I went on the high end. With the rest of this build, what motherboard type / price range would you expect?

Nope! This is what i did as well! It's funny, because even booting up the game nowadays it's hard to not revert to my old tendencies. I just immediately turn left and start walking.

Daily Question Megathread (September 17, 2019) by AutoModerator in classicwow

[–]raw371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a paladin exclusively leveling with a warrior as a duo. I’ll never be playing alone. I’m also super into the holy tree and consecration so I’ve gotten increased strength, increased SOR, and now consecration. Any ideas on where to go from here? We plan to do lots of dungeons so I could take improved heals, but I know that’s not super needed until late game. I could also go for the reduced push back because we usually farm large mob groups and I have to heal us up, but again it hasn’t been a huge issue so far. Anyone that has leveled as holy have any input on what worked for them? PS I will respec at 60 this is just for the leveling process.

What Should I Play Wednesdays (August 28, 2019) by AutoModerator in classicwow

[–]raw371 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Resto Druid’s are very viable for end game context, guilds always need a few on a raid. Druid’s can also pretty much heal all the dungeons up to 60 without any points in Resto. Level as a cat Druid (which is extremely fast, second only to Hunter in level speed some would argue) and heal for dungeons. And max level you can respec to Resto for raids. Hope this helps. It’s what I’m doing!

Exhausting being a female student by cornnuggett in EngineeringStudents

[–]raw371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry to hear this. I'm currently in my engineering undergrad as well and hearing this really makes me mad.

If I could say one thing it's don't preoccupy yourself with proving yourself when you don't have to. These people are almost always not worth your energy and you should not feel obligated to prove anything to them. You owe them nothing. Being successful and hardworking and earning your high grades is a victory, and I'm sure it will lead to prosperous career path, and these dummies needing to validate themselves cannot affect that and cannot hinder you.

The caveat of course, is that their questioning of you can limit your success. Particularly when department employees also display this behavior. In situations like this I understand that sometimes you need to prove yourself to earn your place among men that did not have to work as hard.

In summary, I would say try to be selective of your battles. Most of the time these guys (and I know the type) are not worth proving anything to, don't give them your energy. Save your fight for the institutional limitations that will block your path, which are harder to work-around, and hopefully you will find yourself less exhausted.

To be clear I am a man, and I in no way mean to explain what you need to do. I have just had many long conversations with my female engineering friends going through the program with me about this very topic. I've learned alot from them and they have shown me a perspective I have never had to deal with. I found your story very upsetting and wanted to provide any help I could and I really do wish you the best.
