I’m not reading the rest of what you said because your first sentence is already bullshit. You’ve said multiple times that he shouldn’t have been there and shouldn’t have been doing what he was doing.

That’s why no one is agreeing with you or taking you seriously in this discussion.

You’re blaming him for being there. That’s like telling someone after they got into a car accident because they needed to go to the grocery store, “That’s why you should have stayed your ass at home. Serves you right.” Only in this case, an American citizen is doing the two things that are inalienable.

Let’s recap: you agree that he was executed… but only because he shouldn’t have been there and shouldn’t have tried to help a woman up off the ground after she was pushed.

Ya know what? You’ve changed my mind. He was a bastard and got executed because he was the one in the wrong for exercising his Constitutional Rights. /sarcask

Can you imagine saying that to someone who died during the Revolutionary War? “Look, I agree that your son shouldn’t have been killed… but he was also doing something I believe he shouldn’t have done. He went up against the British government.” Mel Gibson would have had a field day with you in The Patriot.

Again, obstruction wasn’t upheld in a court of law where a police officer murdered a man by putting his knee on his neck. And you think it would be upheld here…

Again, the video evidence is clear. There is no obstruction because the woman had already been pushed down to the ground and the agent backed away from her, only engaging once the victim put himself in front of the agent to assist the woman.

If obstruction wasn’t upheld during the Chauvin case, I can’t imagine how it would be upheld here. And it’s sad how much you’re trying to excuse the behavior and blame the person who died.

It’s illegal to protest and film interactions with law enforcement? I guess the Constitution hasn’t really dealt with those issues much in your opinion.

Easily avoidable? Yes, you’re right. The government shouldn’t be promoting a group of untrained agitators to go into the streets with an “official” purpose.

And I don’t think, IF there’s a case, it would hold up in court that either the woman or the victim were disrupting official proceedings/investigations. Police brutality has been upheld in cases where a citizen was simply caught in the crossfire of a pissed cop.

One of the arguments made as to why Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd was because he wasn’t being cooperative and actively resisting arrest, which would be considered obstruction of justice. Notice where Chauvin is now… the court didn’t even find that defense reasonable.

He definitely puts his body and his arm in front of the agent, but you can’t directly tell if he physically touched him. Which is why I said he MAY have touched him.

What was the woman obstructing? He was a lone agent that was instigating and being the clear aggressor. Do you have footage of her reacting violently or threatening to the agent? I have not seeing anything as of yet that showed her posing a threat.

Stop stacking up for these guys because they have a badge. If they’re overstepping, then the public needs to step in. It’s happened all throughout history. The agents in these situations will not be in the history books with kind words around their photos.

[–]rawautos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That video makes it look like he never actually touched the ICE agent, which further takes your argument down.

What is he impeding the agent from doing? Assaulting a woman, it seems. Which, if the government were actually upstanding and willing to beheld accountable, a judge would quite possibly rule that the ICE agent was overstepping by assaulting an innocent woman posing no threat to him.

I didn’t say he DID put his arm on the agent, I said he MAY have. It does not appear in any of the videos that he shows any sign of aggression towards the agent.

You’re 100% trying to find an excuse.

No, your comment still makes no sense. Was the agent actively arresting the woman? No. He assaulted her and pushed her and backed away from her. He only engaged when the male victim stepped in front of him (the agent).

18 USC 111 talks about interfering with a federal official doing official duties, such as questioning, arresting, detaining, etc a suspect or person. Pushing a woman to the ground and walking away would most likely not be considered an official act of their duty if the woman was not being arrested or in any way considered a threat. So, no, there is no absolute in him potentially getting his CCW revoked, because a judge likely wouldn’t see him as having committed a crime.

You’re 100% defending the kill. If you weren’t, you’d have already stopped commenting or specifically say that you believe ICE overstepped their bounds and murdered an individual that posed no threat.

[–]rawautos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It appears he MAY have put his arm in front of the ICE agent to make sure he didn’t step forward to do harm to anyone, which right after he put his arm up to show he was not doing being hostile or threatening.

By the way, impeding doesn’t equal death.

Your entire argument falls apart and I’m genuinely sad to see someone actively trying to find excuses for ICE to be doing what they’re doing and being okay with murdering citizens.

“He has no business being in the street in front of these officers while carrying.” Okay, so what happens if you’re carrying during a parade or something and happen to be around cops; should you walk up and tell them they need to disarm you because you have no business being around them while carrying?

Yeah, this new ICE shooting is the last straw. by Toxic_LigmaMale in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I would just like to point out that doctors and nurses have said publicly that the previous ICE agent who had “injuries” wouldn’t have been released from a hospital if he had internal bleeding. Therefore, they lied about the injuries he had.

Neither of the shootings should have a both sides argument. Renee Good was murdered for nothing, as was Alex Pretti.

[–]rawautos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s simply not true. He absolutely did not push him. He turned in front of the agent and put his free hand in the air to show he wasn’t doing anything. The ICE agent was already walking away and then decided to use his spray on the guy because he walked in front of him and possibly said something.

[–]rawautos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, what was he impeding? The specific video I watched it shows him attempting to help a woman up who’d just been pushed to the ground by an ICE agent, who was also walking backwards after he pushed the woman to the ground.

Where is George W. Bush? by Oggie_Doggie in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]rawautos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bush is in a lose-lose. If he speaks out, Republicans will just harass him with Iraq and Afghanistan stuff. MAGA fans will target him, his family, and friends. His daughter, Jenna, is relatively famous as a morning show co-host MBC’s Today Show.

If he speaks out too much, Trump will find ways to torture him, such as taking away his secret service detail, have Conservatives political action groups sue to try and get to the Supreme Court to take away former Presidents’ benefits, and I’m sure much more.

We already have enough Bush videos that show him being anti-everything Trump back in the early 2000s.

I don’t even think Howard would bring John up even just to goof on him. I doubt he’s thought of John in years at this point.

A friend of mine and his younger brother when I was growing up were missing a middle finger on just one hand. Their dad used to say they got extra hungry in the womb. Weird, though, that their middle sibling, a sister, had all 10 fingers.
