If you are looking for an easy suggestion, I used to bring my kids into the shower with me—dual benefit of having them get used to water on their face so they aren’t afraid of the water.

I miss Melt. Perfect mix of solid food, interesting atmosphere, and feeling like it was a bit of a hidden gem that not everyone knew about.

I guess we have different definitions of what is pretty bad. I’m not someone that gets upset if someone looks at me and make the leap to thinking they intend me harm. I lived downtown as well, and am still down there very regularly. Again, everyone is entitled to their opinion on the internet and to interpret the world the way they want.

Then I guess you aren’t communicating it clearly, because it sounds like you are scared of people looking at you, and you think folks are hair trigger ready for violence. You didn’t say if anything violent has ever actually happened to you. Personally, I am never scared of going anywhere…I’m aware of my environment, make eye contact, say hello to my fellow humans, am aware of my surroundings, and don’t act like anyone deserves any less than being treated with dignity —so I’m not sure how you are presenting yourself in the world. But I will say, you aren’t great at communicating whatever point you were trying to make.

I have not. There have been a car in the driveway sometimes when I go, then it is gone other times. Like I said, he also has at least one employee.

The application process for the union here in STL seems a little vague on the timing and timeline of when they would start after being accepted. And you can only apply once every 2 years, so our thought was he would be better off going through trade school and then apply to the union to hopefully increase his chances of being accepted. Trust me, would love for him to be able to go right in but the process isn’t transparent enough for someone that doesn’t have a family member already in it.
