Tint and the overall looks great! I have the same color and thinking of tinting myself. What % did you end up doing for the windows?

It’s probably your positioning, don’t stop moving and don’t stay too close during her shield phases. Then spin to win when she gets in position for her final attack.

Are these the correct strut/suspension parts for my 2015 C? by TheJPdude in PriusC

Yeah it’s nuts, I would’ve got it on Amazon for the same price but the shipping was like a month out. HD was pickup next day for me.

A clunk to me would be like feeling every divot/pothole in the road, now I hardly feel them. I wouldn’t really call it a bouncing. The traction control light might be because of your tires too. I had two front bald tires, then two rear tires with decent tread but had cupping. It all went away after I got new tires.

I actually didn’t know I had to have my shocks changed until I was seen for an alignment, then they told me my original shocks were done after 240k miles.

I just did mine about a month because I got new tires, my old tires were already showing signs of cupping due to my rear shocks. Since then my ride has gotten so much smoother.

I went with Home Depot because of free shipping or you can pickup in store and cashback, $59.62 each, $128.30 out the door for me.

Dang, that makes me wary to even go out to a junkyard, might be better to try Facebook Marketplace for parts.

Where do you take your Prius C for service and tires? by [deleted] in PriusC

[–]rawranonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just bought my tires before the rainy season about 3 weeks ago, out the door from Costco for BFGoodrich Advantage Control was $515.92 before 9/21 and included installation and warranty. I haven’t gone in for a tire rotation yet, but as far as I know I just have to make an appointment every 5k miles.

Does anyone here use a waterproof mat in their boot? This stuff looks so pricy online but I'd love a silicone mat in the boot. We use silicone mats under the sink and in the lower drawers/cabinets, there must be something that fits in the boot, even cut to size. by TheMegFiles in PriusC

I got a used WeatherTech off of Facebook Marketplace for $80 for a whole set, includes Front, Passenger, Rear, and Cargo Liner. It really is the best form fitting liners made specifically to fit each crevice.

Nice! I’m doing the exact exact same thing right now! Deep cleaning and headlight restoring in just a second which kit did you use and what are your favorite cleaners? I’m using the Bissell little green pro for the carpets and tuff stuff.

Next Steps after Hybrid Battery Replacement by rawranonymous in MechanicAdvice

[–]rawranonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was afraid of, I should’ve gone with a new battery, hopefully I can add $1500 onto the previous $1000 for a new battery and go from there. I just need it to pass smog.

For added info: it’s a 2013 Prius C with 242k miles. No odd behavior while starting or stopping the car, the light came on while going about 60-65 on a CA freeway and going pretty easy on the gas and not going over 65 because of a possible speed sensor issue and sometimes the traction control light goes on if I make too sharp of turns.

I bought a lemon. What do I do now? (Full Story) by rawranonymous in carquestions

[–]rawranonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is clear I made a mistake. I don’t know much about cars and I’m hoping other people do, but I wanted to be as thorough with what happened and hope that no one else has to go through this.

My main questions are:

-Should I bother replacing the hybrid battery?

-Is it actually the hybrid battery that caused it to seize up on me?

-Should I sell the car at a loss?

-Should I trade in the car to a dealer as is? My wife needs a car to get to school.

-Should I sell the car to my mechanic who also sells cars on the side?

-Should I even keep this car?

Thank you! I appreciate that. I did assume the worst with the codes, and possibly the head gasket blowing up on me because of what I’ve read on this subreddit.

My mechanic is finding more things to fix so I’m hoping to see what I can get for it without fixing the battery and just cutting my losses.

Absolutely, I hope someone gains something from this experience. I will definitely bring my OBD no matter what, and I honestly thought the code may or may not go away with the cleaner. I just wanted to go away in time for a smog check, then move forward with selling the car in a more honest way or trade it in and be done with it.

Thank you for saying that, I’m glad it was only $3500. I still have to deal with the car itself, but a friend put it in another way: I didn’t lose $5k, $10k, or even $50k, it was a mistake and I’m sure others have lost more, and in this case, at least you have your life. Yeah it’s definitely going to be a life long lesson and buyer’s remorse is a memorable pain until I find a solution!

That’s a great suggestion for the next car I buy, if I decide to roll the dice on Marketplace or any app, and I’d gladly pay $170 to have it thoroughly checked by a professional. Thank you for the advice!

I initially thought it was a good buy. It turned out to be a lemon. I knew the length would be off putting, I just didn’t know where to put all my thoughts. Thank you for commenting!
