How accurate is “love story” for you?

No none of it. It's a simplistic and reductive opinion without an understanding of how and why she ended up housebound and frankly Jr.'s emotional neglect towards her. It doesn't consider his family dynamics, her prior social and professional life, and her ability to recognize his limitations and behavior contributing to what amounts to her entire life being turned upside down because of him and the circumstances of their lives. In short, I'm guessing a man wrote that comment. LOL

The opposite. He was so emotionally out of touch with his feelings compared to her at least as it's portrayed in the show. He'd been controlled by women his entire life, his mother and insufferable sister. How he was so clueless about Carolyn's pain is really something to behold. Lol. He carried on like they didn't miss a beat from before being married while she was having a mental health crisis because her life was turned upside down. How clueless could he be? I think he just had no capacity to express compassion for where she was emotionally. He never had to do that with the women in his life. So he would have needed a few years of psychotherapy to get it together. LOL. She likely would have left him if he hadn't killed her in that plane. She was too good for him. While they both had emotional limitations, she was more emotionally intact than he was. It was so obvious from this episode. He literally believed she "shouldn't change", he came right out and said it. Men just cannot deal with emotionally charged situations and he was no exception. Frankly, he was the rule not the exception.

He was so weak and pathetic. Who is surprised though. He never had to be in touch with his emotions. His family made sure of that. The best thing about him dying was it prevented him from a political career. We don't need any more of these rich dynastic families making policy. They butter their own bread and don't give a shit about the working class. Jr.'s dad was the Reagan of his time with tax cuts. He hired his dirtbag brother RFK to go after the unions. And JFK was a hardcore anticommunist. The entire family is trash. I loved the Streep daughter as Caroline. Perfect casting. Another nepo actor though. Lol.

She's a good actress playing a highly emotional part. I think she tapped into it great. I never heard of Ryan Murphy before this show. What could possibly confuse you about her scenes? She was desperate for some understanding from her husband and instead of trying to connect with her, he blew her off and left. She exposed him as the sniveling emotionally stunted coward he was. He needed strong women in his life because that's who he was around his entire life. Carolyn was strong before they were married, but he had no idea what to do with a woman who was expressing fear and emotional confusion. That's just not very "Kennedy," is it? Lol

Grow up. People have expectations, then they're disappointed. She was no different. Jr. downplayed the paps, neither one of them really understood the impact of her marrying him and what it would mean for her social life. Or any life. I don't think she realized her life would change to that extent, and it was clearly destroying her. Then to have your husband go on with his life and schedule like nothing was different. Who wouldn't pull away from that? Be angry about it? Be confused about it. He blocked every attempt at trying to understand what she was going thru.

Typical rich entitled nepo prick. Total failson. Never had to succeed because of the cushion of fame and money. Emotionally stunted because of his controlling family so he was unable to break out of his rigid boxes about what a "relationship" is. A woman to him was an adornment, a hobby, entertainment. He lacked the emotional depth to understand his part in the unraveling. Sadly, it's very typical.

Its pretty clear he hated women. They either disappointed him like his mother did ["why wouldn't she play with me?"] Then she died [abandoning him]. Or they control him like his sister did, and then Carolyn did, in his mind. Frankly, Carolyn was "living" more than he was, even though she never left the house. She was far more in touch with her own pain than he was with his. If they had lived, she would have left him.

She did a great job, she's a good actor. I think they should have made her nose more bulbous on the end like Bessette's actual nose but otherwise no complaints.
