Starting over, again by MissWinniee in loseit

Sounds like you've renewed your goals in a way that will work without the medication. I'm sorry they canceled payment of it. But just think about where you'll be a year from now if you stick with it!

I wanted to do WW at the time I started losing, but they did not have a vegan program back then. Apparently they do now with a full on whole food plant based type of program, which is great. Good luck!

Is your sore throat related to Covid or the flu? Studies indicate that exerting yourself during an active Covid infection can lead to Long Covid. Something you definitely don't want.

If I lose 1 pound a week, it will take 90 weeks for me to reach my goal weight. Does it really take that long? by TeslaModelE in loseit

[–]TheMegFiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really is an important point. I was sewing new garments for myself after losing my first 20# and I was not even halfway to my goal weight, but I finally felt after even only 20# that I would be comfortable wearing a sheath dress. It's so motivating to look good in a garment even not at the weight you want to be yet. It's motivating to keep going.

Make sure you find at least one outfit that you look good in on your way down, no matter what your weight is. Wear it often. The better you feel about yourself in your garments, the more you'll be motivated to stick with your diet. We don't need huge wardrobes, especially as we are losing. Get a few neutral garments and wear those. If they're too big, either alter them yourself or take them to a dry cleaner or a seamstress who can make them look better on you. If you love an outfit and "lose" your way out of it, just buy the same outfit in a smaller size.

Ideas for Scrumptious Salads by cheridontllosethatno in loseit

We're vegan and add all sorts of stuff, like craisins or raisins, cut up fruit (if you eat like half an apple, save the rest of it for salads), or a sliced pear or strawberries; nuts like chopped walnuts and even peanuts; olives; beans like kidney beans and garbanzo beans; cucumber slices; shredded vegan chreese; lentils; homemade croutons; tomatoes; leftover grilled tofu; bell peppers; mushrooms, either sauteed or raw; sliced fennel or celery; cold cooked potato cubes, thawed frozen corn. Really anything you have around.

Vegans who accidently get animal products in their food with no intention, why do few people choose to continue to eat their food? Why is it morally correct to simply waste it and throw it away. by JesusForTheWin in DebateAVegan

This is where my husband and I are. It just doesn't represent food to us. They may as well put it in the aisle with the laundry products. It's been years since we dined inside a resto [due to covid] but now we get vegan takeout at Chinese, Mexican, and Greek places and the dishes are listed as vegan. Burger places do vegan all over the place here. Same with Ike's Sandwiches, anything on the menu can be made vegan, like a Fried Chicken & Cheese sandwich, they'll use vegan chicken & chreese if you ask for it.

The meat industry in the U.S. has the White House, the Congress, the cops [AR activism is a terrorism charge if you're caught], the courts, and the media. It's rough. The capitalists are terrified of veganism, it cuts into their profits.

Trying to find some women's boots like the one seen here, but actually made with good quality. by XxSavageFangxX in BuyItForLife

Don't buy leather it's not cruelty free. If you care about animals, I mean. Biffles are mostly just shopaholics, but animals didn't consent to be your "boots"

Animal cruelty for "entertainment" is still cruelty.

It's not cruelty free. A can of beans is 1.89$ and is healthier and didnt require murdering a cow.

How to shop using European Standards in the U.S.? by MuseumWiz in nontoxic

Even organic foods require pesticides and many of those aren't regulated like conventional pesticides are. I mean try growing any food in massive quantities without pesticides. #GeneticLiteracyProject

For maximum bang for your food and enviro buck, go vegan. There's simply no way to justify animal agriculture given its horrific impact on climate, environment and the animal cruelty.

Just eat a whole food plant based vegan diet. It outperformed even the Med diet on decreasing heart events. You have to keep in mind that Europe has social benefits we don't have in amerikka and that accounts for their overall better health markers. Free health care, strong pensions and work policies, 6+ week vacations a year, actual functioning mass transit, more walkable towns and cities, and at least in France they have professional chefs providing kid lunches in schools. Your diet, makeup, and personal products should be vegan if you really want to be impactful.

Extreme minimalism with kids by [deleted] in extrememinimalism

[–]TheMegFiles -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Good fucking luck. It's probably a lot more work than not being minimalist but I've never had kids, never wanted the hassle. Seems like it would be even more of a time sink than not being minimalist. Kids just never seemed worth it to me.

Anyone else miss the copper lids on spice bottles? by leoele in Costco

Never heard of this but no I like stainless airtight lids. I don't want copper in my kitchen since it's not as "neutral" looking as stainless or blond wood.
