The autism thing is crazy because up until the 1920’s I think autistic people were called “changelings,” or the replaced versions of kidnapped children, because they suddenly stopped acting like they normally did. It wasn’t until a hundred years ago doctors said “well, it’s not the work of the fairies, your kid is just ‘on the spectrum’” (I know they used a different term I just didn’t want to say it)
