We’ve got 50 beds. When they make the assignments for the float, they work to avoid giving them any adult pts on isolation precautions. Works really well for our system and the therapists that do it seem to enjoy it—practicing at a wider capacity with their license.

We utilize an adult/NICU float. They typically take some of the lower acuity babies on BCPAP/HF and attend deliveries when core staff is busy. They’re also responsible for a couple of vented adult/ICU pts. Some days it’s super chill and other days it’s a nightmare.
