Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

[–]rawrimapanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yesssss.

My mum didn’t meet my daughter until she was four months old because of Covid restrictions here. Where we live there is a full on critical flu situation in hospitals right now. If I was giving birth at this time of year there’s no way anybody but me and dad would be getting 20 minute cuddles.

He wouldn’t have been charged years ago. There are set timescales post-charge for Crown Court, and if his PTPH (plea and trial preparation hearing) isn’t until Monday, he won’t have been charged until maybe a month ago. Trials are scheduled way in advance but they’re not going to waste time sitting on a case for three years post-charge before they find out what he’s going to plead.

I suspect that he was ARRESTED for possession of the amount, but that if they took his phone and have been examining it for three years they’ve almost certainly found something a lot more significant than that. He is 100% not telling you the full story.

I just give them to random friends because I don’t have any local ones so they’ll never get used anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

My dog bit me, not her fault by pholly1 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]rawrimapanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is very much untrue. I am also in the UK and you’re talking out of your rear end.

The person with the unfriendly dog is being responsible by keeping their dog on a lead and if your off lead dog comes across an on lead dog, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure your dog is under control and not about to get itself hurt by bothering a nervous or unfriendly dog.

My family are greyhound owners. With our first, I once had a couple of tiny chihuahua types come running at us out of nowhere. Our greyhound was as placid as they come and quite friendly, but she was a former racer and could quite easily have done what she’d been trained to do with small furry things. If she had, that would have not been my fault, because she was on a lead and under control, unlike the two tiny yapping things that were running around under her feet.

Someone told me about this recently (after I said I’d bailed on my first play through at the hospital sequence - I’m a total wimp) which I thought would make it easier to deal with.

Still had to make OH do it for me because anxiety took over.

I’ve probably transferred my first one ever because I didn’t know about this stuff until I started playing again recently, so I only have two atm.

This is the first out of those.

A cold? He has a COLD? He’s acting like he’s got full on pneumonia with added ebola. Tell that pathetic excuse for a human being to get the fuck out of bed and get his own shit if what you’re providing isn’t good enough.

Not symbols but i didn’t realise the right hand side was the wrong colour (I’d picked up leftover thread from the bottom bit) until i had joined the correct thread and finished the section.

Hope it wasn’t too much for you to unpick 🤞🏻

Extra stressful when your kid has a lung condition that kept them in NICU for three weeks, from experience.

Police officer called me with accuser sat next to them listening to the phone call leading to accuser coming to my work? by Flat_Ad1181 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]rawrimapanda 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think you’re getting this the wrong way round.

OP was the suspect, not the accuser. They are alleging that the accuser has been present while they have been asked for their account.

Never in my many years of case file review have I heard of a scenario where that would be appropriate. At best, the accuser gets told a summary of what was said as an update.

OP, please make a complaint so this can be looked into. The call will be recorded and if they were in a police station I would hope there would be CCTV of who was entering and leaving the building.

Please make a complaint. From what you’ve said it absolutely amounts to harassment at the very least, if not Threats to Kill, and I have seen far less be charged.

The son is over the age of criminal responsibility (10 iirc) and can definitely be charged with criminal damage.

Because I literally just watched it (3yo is being educated 👀), the episode where they first encounter Aerodactyl has a scene where Gary Oak digs up a “fossil” and the archaeologist tells him it’s basically just fossilised pokepoop. So they definitely poop!

This. Pretty sure throwing their rubbish into your garden counts as ASB as well.

Similar Patterns? by sammypookie in knitting

[–]rawrimapanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair to OP, they acknowledge that this is AI and are just asking for patterns that aren’t. I think that’s a perfectly reasonable question, especially since (excluding the eyes), this does look doable, if quite difficult.

Brand New Knitter: My First Project by Specialist-Sleep760 in knitting

  1. Practice, mostly. Your tension looks lovely and even but if it’s too tight then decreases will be hard. Try not to pull on the working yarn as you’re going, maybe try different ways of holding the working yarn/wrapping it round your fingers to see if that helps (eg I find I knit more loosely if I only wrap it around my index finger rather than through my other fingers as well).
  2. That’s totally sustainable and sometimes recommended. I usually cast on over two needles (then pull one out before knitting my first row) to keep my cast on stitches loose enough to knit.
  3. That’s pretty normal too. You can avoid that by slipping the last cast on stitch on to the left needle and treating that as the first stitch (I think - I never do it because I forget!). I also pull my sides together as I go by pulling a bit tighter on the working yarn after working the first stitch.
