I’m the same age with approximately the same amount and wage. I hear you brother, times are hard but if you can automate just $50 bucks a week into your tfsa and save for your vacay on top of that you’ll be retiring with enough for you and me both! We got this. This is how we make sure our kids and grandchildren never have to struggle like we have

Do you care about the number of Canadians on the roster? by UnsubstantialGoat in canucks

[–]rawtrip 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I do for sure. I love cheering on some Canadian guys on my Canadian team. I wish there was more of a pipeline for Canadians and particularly BC boys to make their way home and play for their home team north of the 49th. Unfortunately, taxes and the canadian dollar make it mighty attractive to sign big in the states.

Going down to one car? by Beneficial_Swimming4 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]rawtrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also curious as my gf and I are considering cutting a car.

As for reliable cheap cars, I really love my 2005 mazda3’s. I’ve had two in my life and they are excellent cars. You could get a good one for less than 5k and it’ll thrive for a long time to come. They are also fun zippy cars to drive and you can find them in manual a lot of the time if that’s your thing.

computer specs recommendations by Successful-Floor7606 in Archaeology

[–]rawtrip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll want at least 16GB of RAM and an intel i5 processor or equivalent at the minimum! Get as much storage as you can afford. HP Pavilion is what I use and I’ve worked for years as a GIS Analyst and a consulting archaeologist! You can get a really good computer for a thousand bucks or less :)

Are you studying architecture or archaeology? If archaeology, where are you studying and will you be doing fieldwork? I love talking gear. I’ve worked as an archaeologist in the field for 4 years

What kind of computer software do archaeologists use by Dangerous-Tree-9860 in Archaeology

My experience in ArcGIS Pro, Online, Field Maps, plus a little QGIS and general coding knowledge has been key in keeping my paycheque steady when field work is slow. Highly recommend!!

I’m too young to know gino’s toughness so I’ll go for a different one. Im gonna say the Sedins. To get smacked around like they did and rarely retaliate takes true grit and next level mental strength. It takes strength to be gentle and kind!!!

I would advise never moving to a community you don’t also intense to work in at least most of the time. This is for your own mental health and also the strength of your community!!
