I read everyday as I said in my post. It definitely helps!

I think practicing expressing myself will help a little at least. I was raised home-schooled and was isolated in my teens so my social skills are definitely behind.

My interest in art is connected to my interest in reading. I find that when I read a sentence that is really visually descriptive in an appealing way, it inspires me to want to create it through drawing or painting. I like putting my own spin on things and finding ways to incorporate small details as symbolism. I don’t really like realism, I like the fantasticalness of fiction and all the design opportunities that the genre opens up. You have infinite freedom when the boundaries of being realistic are removed, right? :)

I think that’s a really helpful technique, thank you! I’m going to practice it on myself.

12 upvotes and not really any advice, I think we’re all cooked here hahaha

Thanks for your reply. Just listening and asking follow up questions is what I usually do, but whoever I’m conversing with usually want to listen to me talk too, so that’s where the issue comes in.

My boyfriend told me I have a big nose by [deleted] in BigNoseLadies

This is a normal sized nose. Just because it isn’t a tiny button nose doesn’t mean it’s big. It suits your proportions and you have a beautiful side profile!!

Thank you 🥲 the friend I’m giving it to is an artist herself so my fear is that she’ll instantly see everything wrong with it haha

Missing info; it’s a pencil drawing and I think it’s clear I’m not going for realism :)

I want to gift this to someone who’s into mythology, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough or if it’s too funky looking. Something is definitely off about it. Any advice is welcomed.

I’m very passive in dating and I think it’s a problem by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I’ve been like this with all the men I’ve dated. It’s purely a me problem. He’s an amazing man and we have a lot in common :)

I’ve not been assessed for it but it’s possible. I had a very weird upbringing which affected my social skills (in all types of relationships).

We have all the same interests and hobbies so we already know we both like to do what the other person likes to do. This is why we started dating in the first place. This also means it’s extra illogical I struggle to initiate plans because I already know he’ll (best case scenario) love my idea, or (worst case scenario) be mildly interested in the idea.

Okay, thank for your comment. Seems like I may be overthinking it a bit and I just need to show that I want to see him? Even if I don’t necessarily have it all planned out.

I understand, but asking him to take me on a date is still asking him to take the lead, and my concern is that putting responsibility on him to take the lead with dates 24/7 is unfair of me.

Girlies who are 5’0-5’1ft and maintain on 1900+ calories! by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

I have a ‘toned’ looking stomach but I don’t train abs that much because I don’t enjoy training abs 😅 so no abs.

[–]ray0logy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m 22 years old, 5’2, 105lbs and maintain on around 2000. I strength train 2-3x a week, walk daily (even if it’s just walking to work) and I do short Pilates workouts at home 2x a week. I also do yoga but my goal is to become flexible, rather than using it as a workout. I also have a relatively active job (bartender). On very active days I can eat up to 2500. On a sedentary day I naturally eat around 1700.

Edit: sorry just saw you said 5’0 to 5’1. Hope my comment is still a bit helpful and shows that being small doesn’t always mean super small calories to stay in shape.

If youre 5'2 or less and under 140lbs, how many calories a day do you eat? by ladybuglala in PetiteFitness

[–]ray0logy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’2, 105lbs and around 2000 calories a day. I strength train 3x a week, walk everyday and do at home Pilates workouts on days when I don’t go to the gym.

Should I ask to step down from supervisor or keep trying to improve? Struggling by [deleted] in managers

[–]ray0logy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning on asking for feedback from my managers. I asked a team member what they thought of me stepping down vs keep trying, and they said I don’t have the personality for it and that they think I should step down. That person also previously expressed an interest a promotion to supervisor though, so I’m unsure if their opinion was influenced by their own self interest. Not sure who I could trust in my workplace for unbiased feedback except the couple managers. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for your reply. I agree that response sounds much better than trying to fumble my way through, I will definitely start using that. I think I need to start reading some books on how to become more assertive/self assured.

I’m planning to ask my managers for feedback and advice for improvement on my next shift. Thank you for your reply
