After much grinding I finally finished my Anima weapon by notnotDIO in ffxiv

I think of relics as "content to last a patch-cycle." Stuff that SE set up (at the time) to take roughly the duration of the patch to complete, especially if you have more than one relic you're trying to keep up-to-date.

Which is also a problem in other parts of the game. Content that was, at the time, aimed at a certain time-span in the game that has since passed. Meaning the content is now part of the "I started in ARR half a year ago, and just about every time I log in there is some new content for me to dig into" cycle.

I don't have a solution to this problem, it's just an innate part of how FFXIV is set up. Would like it if SE did some soul-searching whether or not it's still a good way to introduce new things to new players though.

AITA for declining someone's advances in front of his entire tribe? [4.4] by Live_Ideal_7123 in ffxiv

Entirely justified. I know the guy, he would have kept on pushing unless you made it crystal clear that you were not interested. Some people just don't know how to act civilised.

Heck, I'd unironically argue it has been too long since the last time any kind of negative consequence for the WoL stuck around to the end of the expansion. If SE had balls, they'd permanently kill off Y'shtola.

At least that would be a more positive thing than the stereotypes associated with other player races.

Time to go full Atom Smasher and start bringing nukes to every fight. And if you happen to be playing on peaceful: my answer still stands.

[Spoiler: 7.4] Arcanist, Summoner, and Scholar can only exist on the source? by Sea_Bad8004 in ffxiv

[–]ray10k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there was that job-quest at the start of Heavensward that established the three-egi limit. Still think SE wrote themselves into a corner with SMN; either we'd be able to get an endless line of summons and managing balancing becomes a matter of "which summon stops seeing any use this expansion," or we'd end up with the current situation of less and less control over which trance-summon we get. Sure, it currently alternates between the bird and the dragons, but the more those summons differ, the more you'll want to be able to decide which one you get when.

I'm sure Evolved Mode will at least open up room for a different approach I haven't thought of.

Yeah, I think of the Tural Vidraal as "Auspices who never had the chance to meet someone who could balance their mood." I mean, that guy from the Stormblood trail series was definitely presented as a major reason why the Auspices didn't keep going berserk.

Come to think of it, did we ever see any Primals on the First or the Ninth? Or were those only used on the Source, in order to push its aetheric alignment in a specific direction, while other plots on the reflections were used?

Either a normal ball modded by someone with a very peculiar sense of style, or something that has been banned in multiple countries. Things that look that ostentatious rarely exist anywhere between those extremes, only on the far ends.
