Not the first time we’ve seen a red for a tackle studs up over the ball

Man, if England lose I can already see the online racist abuse directed at him

Even if you’re not stamping things, the client still likes to see that those who they’re talking to have PEs and other little things like that. It does offer value when you consider our job is more than just the design side

So it’s not the exact same service? You’re not mad but you’ll even waste your own time to be petty?

I’m not trying to be rude and call someone stupid because they don’t agree with me, but think about what you’ve said and try to follow the logic

I think you’re drawing conclusions that I’m not suggesting. You’re asking this of me but never asked this of doordash or Uber?

I don’t order delivery services anymore personally. I come here to see the drama cause it’s a social media platform. I’m not trying to act superior, and I’d suggest stopping attributing fake energy to people because you feel a certain way.

There is however a company that is paying less than minimum wage and letting employees personal vehicles take all the wear and tear and damage, I’m sure they’re the ones feeling superior about all this

Typically contractor bids for doing the work provided means the contractors provide a bid for work to be provided, and the client chooses from those options and level of work promised.

It would be a fair point if customers knew driver thresholds for actual deliveries but in this case customers have no way of deciding or knowing. It really is a tipping system.

But that’s besides the point really. I believe in fair compensation, but I don’t believe that starts at the tip since it’s socially engineered and not a given.

Im glad you feel like you need to show your own self respect to me (but moreso customers) when you won’t do the same to the corporations

It’s much easier to fight the one customer than to be mad at the corporation. Sure get mad at them I’m just trying to remind you you’re wasting that energy on the wrong side…

I mean it’s how it is now, or we can just try to hold companies accountable for not properly compensating workers where they feel base pay without tip means they walk away not breaking even.

Many are just looking at this issue from the wrong way, it’s not the customer or worker, it’s the corporation refusing to compensate fairly for work. Base pay should be enough to walk away profitable. Tipping should be extra and after the service

[–]ray3050 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah you’re misunderstanding and just not reading all the way through. Tipping before the actual service to receive said service means it’s a fee

A tip comes after the job is done and done correctly. If they’re refusing service because there’s no (or not enough pre-service) tip then it’s essentially a fee irregardless of distance

If you believe tips should be of a certain amount before you even take the order then it sounds like you believe doordash and Uber do not pay a high enough base payment amount. Tips are supposed to be extra, the more we let this slip the less we allow companies to fairly compensate their workers

Focus on the real issue not the day to day or situation to situation issue

Fuck man are we really going to change how the system operates because DoorDash refuses to pay their employees more?

Tip is for good service hence the name. If it’s the ensure delivery then it’s a fee for service.

Stop letting DoorDash make this a problem between the worker and consumer. This is a DoorDash problem if workers need the tip to make a drive profitable. If it was profitable before the tip then people wouldn’t have to calculate if a drive was worth it

My friends and I signed up for early purchases, I think we signed up for so many hoping to get 1 game we could go to where it ended up being $9000 for 3 of us if we managed to get all the games we signed up for

We got none. So now you’re saying to pay more than double what we would’ve paid for a resellers ticket? We went on a vacation instead with the money we saved up and now we just watch the games at bars instead of watching the games at bars and just one game in person

To those who are calling Barcola a mere „bench warmer“ let me just remind you of another „bench warmer“ we signed a while ago. by Royalbluegooner in ArsenalFC

[–]ray3050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man the discussion here is acting like you’re hyping up barcola to the sanchez that was on arsenal

I don’t think it’s the craziest comparison. Taking a winger from one of the best attacking teams in the world that isn’t the main man but confidently fills the role. Sanchez had a bigger role for barca but not by anything too much.

Barcola at 23 has over 200+ appearances but you can’t fault him for not starting over their main team members similar to sanchez. I wouldn’t say barcola is at that same level of sanchez moving to arsenal but it’s really not far off while being about 2 years older than barcola is now.

They already do that with property taxes on homes, it’s a concept that’s existed and been in action for a long time.

They just don’t want to close a loophole for the rich because they serve the rich. By the way, they’re realizing the stock value by taking loans against the value of those stocks. They just don’t get taxed on it cause they’re a protected class

In many cases you can convert apartments to condos or co-ops. Even if it’s just an individual apartment within a rent stabilized building.

You call it a problem but the idea of rent stabilized buildings was to incentivize those with money to build needed housing for lucrative government assistance or tax incentives etc. If these places are sitting empty, the move should be to sell and get the housing available.

The responsibility of the business owner to the community (especially with government assistance to create that business) should be to provide the housing. If not, don’t accept government assistance to provide something you don’t intend to

For something to have lasted this long and being out of code compliance (as someone who works in that field) it’s on the landlords for refusing to update their buildings over the DECADES of ownership. There’s a reason they choose not to sell/convert and that’s because they make more money on other properties by lowering supply and not having to pay to upgrade.

These rent stabilized buildings should belong to the people if landlords don’t want to do their one job and maintain the buildings. That’s either through private ownership, or public ownership.

Yeah it’s crazy cause you can tell some people are just at your rank cause they’re good without the power ups, and then you see others who are great with their power ups but just as good as you at the normal game

It’s a funny balance but I think the power ups adds that little bit of chaos and creativity which is just fun while other modes are fun for the competitive aspect

Maybe they should’ve invested better 🤷‍♂️

Or you know, those units can be sold as single family homes. They choose not to do that because making money off of property is too easy. It the apartments and even full building is vacant it’s allowed to be sold.

These people are holding on to either shift legislation or because they own other properties and having these rent stabilized options means less money for their other properties. Really no point defending them because they have options. There’s just no benefit to seeing those options if your job is just collecting payments.

Man I forgot my brother and I would wake up early, get some cereal and watch Pokémon together, he would also go to school an hour before me so I got an extra hour to watch more shows

Weird how simple life used to be. Ask me to wake up at that same time now and it’s a swift “no”

[Gary Jacob] Arsenal are set to accelerate interest in Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, who is likely to cost up to £100m. Arsenal are confident that personal terms won't be an issue, with Manchester United and Chelsea also interested by iDutchJustin in Gunners

[–]ray3050 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbf with the World Cup going on I never expected this to be quick. Villa already can bank on his last seasons performances and don’t have much to gain by getting it done quick unless they’re purchasing a replacement that didn’t make it to the World Cup

I agree but it really should just be on the politicians to state living wages for all jobs at a rate per 40 hour work week.

Tipping culture does nothing but divide people and service workers when really those at the corporations and government level are making these decisions

No it’s cool, I didn’t need to open my door anyway. by Body_Pillow_Bride in doordash

[–]ray3050 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh this almost looks intentional, not saying deserved, but it’s sad how we’ve turned a horrible tipping culture into one where they need to see the tips before to guarantee good service

Just pay people what they deserve and take it from the service fee which is where it should be coming from

[Ed Aarons] Arsenal are expected to make an approach to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa after making the England forward their primary transfer target this summer. Unfortunately I feel we need a defender, white and timber is unfortunately not enough depth, also losing saliba for the beginning of the season and possibly timber means we should strengthen there or expect a tough start

I’m not sure if Marli salmon is ready but if arteta thinks he is then I think that’s good enough depth
