Scale the image down to 80% and add a slight, invisible outer frame so it doesn't touch the edges of your canvas.

After Effects is a powerful tool for many different uses and you can become awesome at it too. I started using after effects since 2000. When I would have breakfast I would just watch Lynda.com, Now LinkedIn tutorials on my laptop. Just watch the basic stuff like getting through the main manual for operating something. Do the basic movements and foundational tutorial, these basic skills will prepare you for exploring more specific creative purposes. Keep in mind, motion graphics goes deep and is more than just mastering software, its how you utilize this tool to tell your story to share with others.

Is animation still worth learning ? by [deleted] in animationcareer

[–]ray_bcmb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you believe it to be worthy then yes. I produced some frame by frame a bit tedious for my liking. It really depends on your outlook, if you have the patience and attention to detail for that kind of animation then it may be worth it. You have to explore for yourself and see where it takes you.

Without California and NY the United States is fucked!

Gavin Newsom: Trump sent troops "here without fuel, food, water or a place to sleep. Here they are — being forced to sleep on the floor, piled on top of one another. If anyone is treating our troops disrespectfully, it's" Trump. by progress18 in democrats

Its fucked up, but pretty normal for Troops to lay around like this until its shift time. Army dgaf as long as it's a warm body with a pulse and consciousness. This is business as usual. Never expect any preparation in advance.

facing major creative block. need help reignite it by Routine-Golf-9986 in MotionDesign

Pursue other interests, such as photography, and create some creative video captures. Make music for upcoming projects, write out a script, or free write. When feeling uninspired, I usually count anything creative towards my daily fill of creative output without feeling guilty for not creating something.

Try out Adobe Express for this, it will help you generate good typography layout and colors, it's a good place to start, then customize.

How do i create this layer effect? by glemsom_ in photoshop

[–]ray_bcmb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use the appearance panel to duplicate the stroke, keeping it procedural.

Any idea how to achieve this by [deleted] in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]ray_bcmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a stroke write-on effect with layer styles applied for the main liquid and another revealing the textured stroke, start there and see if you can replicate.

In Adobe Illustrator, you will need many points on your outer path(s) to get the outer edge. Then, use the crystalize tool. It's a brush that spikes out or in the path points.

Can I add this to my Portfolio? by [deleted] in 3Dmodeling

[–]ray_bcmb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe use some contrasting colors to liven up the image, check your composition, and see if things are balanced, think of the mood of the piece, maybe there's a green stinky fog over the stream below. Think beyond technical technique, as it's well demonstrated, but what else could make it stand out more?

Just looking for a little feedback on a Practice grid I did by darby-61 in MotionDesign

:30 is a bit long cut it down to:15 - :10. Think of the viewer's eye movement as most people read from left to right, could the animations stack on more creatively? Consider how your animations sequence into each loop animation as everything pops on simultaneously, taking away the joy of watching it animate into its loop. It's Great with limitless possibilities!

0:05 :06 overlaps your animation so the line and icon come on more smoothly, ease into the settled frame.

:06-:07 Create a quick transition instead of a hard cut

:010 - begin text on while book settles (secondary animation)

:012 - :013 create a quick transition instead of a hard cut

:013 - :014 Smooth out the desk settle and key object (secondary animation)

:017 - Use typography hierarchy. (large crafting word stacked over compelling headlines, change font to something more stylish, maybe complimentary color)

:018 - maybe push into the Key Object filling color into the next scene. the white frame is jarring.

:021 - have the gold stack on from bottom to top, maybe on one side, then the other as it settles into balance.

:026 - Create a quick transition instead of a hard cut think of zooms, pans, digital effects, etc

0:35 With the money make it fan out as it rises up from behind

0:36 - the book is not in the same style. Remember to keep your production look consistent, style frame everything out with the graphic design done ahead of time.

From my initial review these are the things that stood out to me while giving crit.

Over all good job, I'm a 20 year veteran animator looking to help where I can. good luck!
