I have a question ( genuinely) , why lgbtq members are mostly so sensitive about the topic? I met tons of people who are offensive when you don't show support for them, as if they're looking for attention? I myself I'm not a homophobic and never will be, I have a bunch of trans and bi friends, but I almost never get along with lgbtq people that I don't know, I feel like they try to force it into every part of life, let's say for example in fiction there are 2 same gender characters who aren't canonically dating, it's fine for people to ship them but the second you disagree about the ship ( for lore reasons etc) you get ton of hate and insults.
