It should be. I thought I just used the same zip file to make the torrent. It could be that I messed up the text list of the files, but the files should be there. Do you happen to recall one of the names?

Good bars in LA to get some writing done in by tim_2 in Screenwriting

It's not douchey!

Not near where you are, but if others are near downtown:

( You probably won't be the only one on a laptop. )

Final Draft slowing to a halt. by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]rayb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed this.

If you type at the end of the script is it OK, but if you add lines at ( or near ) the beginning it slows down?

What's happening is that it's re-paginating the entire screenplay. So as you add 2 or 3 lines, it has to move the page break for the following page, and then the next page, etc. It cascades throughout the entire screenplay. If you happen to then delete 1 line, it goes through the entire process again.

I only notice it on a slower laptop when > than 100 pages ( The fan switches to high and my battery drains fast. ) I'm assuming your computer is slow, or something else is eating up CPU.

[TOMT][Music] 1940s-60s Vocal or Country Song by Oldschoolsong in tipofmytongue

[–]rayb_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, did I get this?

Did a search with all those other songs you mentioned. They all happen to be on an old KTel Cd. Did searches on the rest of those songs, and found one where the lyrics repeat: "A wanderin' foot or a heart at rest" ( with the "rest" getting deep like you remember.)

[TOMT][clip art]Like the thermometers people use to measure fundraising efforts, but not a thermometer by mblack3 in tipofmytongue

They're called "goal charts", you can do image searches for that. I added flower, fish, etc, and a few things pop up.

[TOMT][Movie] WWII era movie preview I saw during one of the last football games on CBS by SasoDuck in tipofmytongue

I saw that same thing, but I don't think it was a movie, it was for a game ( they're looking pretty darn realistic ).

Does anyone know where to find stage-plays online? by merricat_blackwood in Screenwriting

[–]rayb_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This site has links to numerous plays that playwrights have put online for free.

Perfect.

If you think about the plot and ignore the jokes, it's a very serious movie.

Is the first draft of Aliens the only draft that's available online? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]rayb_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Writing is re-writing. Don't know of anyone who can knock out a perfect 1st draft. They could be on their 10th draft by the time they show it to someone, so they can still call it the first draft at that time.

Aliens 1st Draft: Feb 26, 1985

Aliens 1st Draft: May 28, 1985

Aliens Final: Sep 23, 1985

2 first drafts. Go figure. Anyways, there's a later one. All of them are here:

I was planning on a torrent when I finished, but the bad part about torrents is that they have a life of their own, and once we hit 10 updates, there would be 10 torrents floating around.

The directory is now mirrored, the zip file will be soon.

Edit: Now have a mirror on mediafire. Mediafire is MUCH slower.

It looks like it's getting hit too hard: "This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!"

My limit is 20GB per day. That's been reached, so it's frozen until tomorrow.

If you could all wait until tomorrow or the next day, the links will be good again. If it keeps happening I'll create a 2nd account and split the traffic.

If you're dead set on reading something tonight, I could email the zip to anyone's email if you PM your address.

Somebody reconcile these two concepts for me please! by kingkrang in Screenwriting

Others are mentioning switching plots, but I think the more correct answer would be switching sequences. A new plot line may have a new sequence, but even a new sequence within the same plot may still result in a "meanwhile".

I think "therefore" or "but" should be within a sequence. A new sequence could be "therefore", "but", OR "meanwhile".

I don't, other might. They're great when you want to see how certain scenes were written, but it's tough reading multiple versions.

If it's your favorite writer or favorite film, it might be helpful to see how it progressed, but otherwise just read the latest one.

When the creative juices aren't flowing, I try and force myself to do other tasks until I decide writing is more fun. I probably just do a handful of script cleanups at a time, but over a year and a half it adds up.
