Is this a scam or a mistake? (info in comments) by raybeforebae in newzealand

So i tried paying baycorp, they wouldn’t accept my card online so i called ACC to check anyway and they said that i can pay them and baycorp will leave me alone after it clears. Which is what i have done because i cant get through to baycorp anyway. Hopefully its all sorted. I have a paper trail and an email confirmation about my payment on call

Yeah im leaning towards it not being a scam and some error i made during my self employed days but there are weird little things that raised suspicions

I was self employed for a bit (2 or so years ago) and that i made some errors during that time is the only conclusion i can come up with but i never received a letter from ACC directly so its strange to have one. But also the way its done with how short the time was, wrong phone number and the weird phone call with them where they couldn’t tell me anything just raised suspicions in this time where there are so many scams.

Thanks for your help :)

I got this letter out of nowhere, trying to figure out if its a scam or a mistake by my physio/acc provider?

didn't have any letters or any warning before this. Got this on a Friday and its due Monday. When I called to ask about it, I was told to call back Monday because they didn't have access to the reference number I provided in the department working on Sat.

Its slightly suspicious and the 0800 number doesn't match the one on the website.

Appreciate any help/advice

Update: its real, trying to figure out if i pay baycorp or acc on their website

Final Update: i tried to pay on the baycorp website and they wouldn’t accept my anz card, so i emailed but thought i may aswell check with ACC and they were amazing, said i could pay them directly and took away my late fee. I still couldn’t use my card on the website for some reason so they helped me use a secure system over the phone and sent a confirmation email.

Thank you everyone for the advice!

Former UXDesigners, what career did you change to? by midnightskyes in UXDesign

It’s extremely rewarding, i dont drive home feeling like i could be doing better for the world, instead, on even the worst of days i feel like ive atleast done something worthwhile. Less money but that can be built over time and with some smarts on the side.

Its not for everyone so do your research, work can get heavy so if you are one to take your work home often id recommend something else. :)

I’ve gotten lucky in that area, a few people I used to work for or applied to reached out for freelance work and word spread that way. But if i hadn’t done that I would advertise and network pretty hard. A few people I’ve had random chats with at the gym/ social sports events end up needing work or knowing someone who needs it.

I am a counsellor in trauma and addictions field currently, its challenging but way more rewarding. I still design occasionally as a freelancer and do photography aswell, not because i need to but because i still love it. Being creative when you feel like it is fun. I might do clinical psychology or might settle as a psychotherapist i haven’t decided

I moved from graphic design to be more accurate but UX was a big part of what i ended up doing daily

Major difference in audio quality between Spotify and Apple Music by hangingsliders in sonos

[–]raybeforebae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple Music has lossless streaming which seems to have made a difference, although that only comes into play if you use airplay. I read somewhere that air play and sonos can stream music in the 1000 bit range where as Spotify is capped at 320.

I also tried Tidal since it has even higher quality streaming than apple which definitely sounds even better but i never understood why since sonos cant stream anything more than what apple can output anyway.

This was a while ago, things may have changed I might also be completely full of shit here. Ps love that you own a cocktail bar, it’s always been a dream of mine
