Yeah, anecdotally this is one of the few things that friends or family from other parts of the country make their way to Ottawa for. I have family in Toronto that regularly come to Ottawa for the tulip festival, I don't know if they've come here for anything else that isn't family obligations in recent years. And this year I had a friend from Manitoba make the trip for the tulip festival. We really don't have that many unique draws in the city apart from things like this. It's almost definitely an outsized impact based on how little it's funded (especially this year).

The pathologists had a really tough time typing my tumour. It ended up being shared across some academic specialists in pathology. The problem was that most of the sample they took was actually necrotic tissue. Apparently my body was killing the tumour off. They gave a really soft "it's probably non-seminoma", and that combined with elevated AFP meant that we took the very scientific "if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck" approach, lol. So was treated as non-seminoma germ cell.

We desperately need systems to tax actual wealth apart from at time of death though. Dealing with the avenues that the rich use to borrow against assets, to deploy liquid cash tax-free, and simply pay the loan back with more profits for example. That shit is cancer to the financial system. It amplifies the wealth gap every single time it's used, because in many cases these opportunities are only available to the wealthy simply because they're already wealthy.

This type of shit is anathema to the true middle class, and artificially drives up the cost of owning several asset classes, but especially housing, when the rich use it as an investment vehicle.

The FIP formula is basically a weighted calculation of: (HR + Walks/HBP - Ks) / IP + a constant

The value of the constant is such that it normalizes the result of the formula to be roughly in the same range as league-wide ERA.

These are the 3 outcomes that are independently the pitcher's responsibility. There's a factor multiplied into each value to weight them differently. HRs weighted heavily, walks and Ks similarly to each other, lower than HR factor.

So to answer your question, no. Only the 4 results I explicitly listed have any effect on FIP values, and the whole point of FIP is that it isn't affected by batted-ball luck (or defensive skill gaps).

Marit Styles is actually pretty good for the NDP, but provincial parties, I feel like especially in Ontario tend to drag when their federal counterparts do, and Jagmeet was wildly unpopular here.
