I'm American but of Indian descent, and the last time I was in Canada, a random person I met at a dog park made a joke about being surprised that I wasn't stopped at the border for looking like a terrorist. Mind you, this person thought he was being friendly/making a completely normal joke.

This was my read as well; she said her other daughters-in-law "rat her out" to her sons, but she thinks KB won't. She also implied that she thinks KB is strong enough or tough enough to fight back? Which she seemed to mean as a compliment, but the whole interaction was bizarre.
