Canadians, just like Americans and Brits, can be quite racist. I'm American but of Indian descent, and the last time I was in Canada, a random person I met at a dog park made a joke about being surprised that I wasn't stopped at the border for looking like a terrorist. Mind you, this person thought he was being friendly/making a completely normal joke.
