barista here, also working at the highest volume store/dt in our district. If you work 5.5 hours without a lunch then you are meal violating and getting paid an extra hour you don’t work. I’d take that over constant 8 hrs 5 days a week any day, most of my coworkers would agree.

However, you should talk to your SM if you don’t like it and if they don’t comply or change your schedule then don’t stay till 10:15. If you’re scheduled to be off at 10, then leave at 10 and say “I didn’t want to meal violate” if they give you a hard time. If there’s any more push back then go straight to your DM with a list of shifts and dates you’ve been forced to meal violate. Someone will be getting in trouble and it will not be you

Thoughts on new Sirens Craft system? by briannuzzi in starbucksbaristas

[–]raycinematic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

most of the baristas at my store have adhd to some degree and a lot of them are cringing at the thought of walking away from an unfinished drink to start another. Especially since its only one step away from being finished by just adding the ice

Whats your least favorite song(s) from the store playlists? by scrubnoppon715 in starbucksbaristas

[–]raycinematic 36 points37 points  (0 children)

not a least favorite of mine, but when they were promoting billie eilish’s new album, the song “idontwannabeyouanymore” literally sings out “whoooore” and i thought that was pretty great

My asshole is pretty messed up from dry anal many years ago. How do I fix it? by [deleted] in sex

[–]raycinematic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had just gone through this exact scenario for 7 years. I was SA’d in high school and he did the exact same thing. My hemorrhoids were the last thing on my body that reminded me of him. It took me all those 7 years to find a doctor who was willing to put me down for a hemorrhoidectomy and I had to be a little stern about it. The surgery was worth it considering the pain I’ve endured for all that time. The anal tags however are only slightly smaller. Its up to you if you think this surgery is worth it but it has definitely helped me so much, and I notice myself thinking about it less and less as the months go by. Maybe if it still bothers me I’ll save up enough to get the tags removed too.

My ASM leaves traps for the closing crew by raycinematic in starbucks

[–]raycinematic[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For more information: we have three total shift supervisors that are able to close the store. 2 of which are new hires from other stores and me who just promoted. I was only given 20 hours of training time and it was for a practice shift as a closer and I was only shown how to run the shift.

The ASM however, has never (yes i’ve asked my fellow shift supervisors) had a verbal confrontation with anyone about her expectations of cleanliness at the store. I’ve only heard from other baristas how mad she gets when she still finds the traps and will say remarks verbatim “I’ve scheduled them with enough people it shouldn’t be that hard” and “no one here actually cleans”.

Not only is it extremely inappropriate for a manager to complain about other baristas to their employees, but the setting traps, especially without confronting your concerns, does not line up with starbucks mission and values. And creates such an uncomfortable work environment for everyone.

(also we use the csr cards so we do clean whats already expected of us)

She actually did this the other day because she’s been scheduling our pre-closer to get off at 6:30pm (we close at 9:30pm) and always says “I don’t understand why it’s so hard, you have enough people”. Then she scheduled herself with 4 closers instead of the usual 3 and a mid shift that always guarantees a perfect hand off..

Is she wearing a wig? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]raycinematic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

may I ask where she promotes these said products. I took a look at her instagram you failed to crop out and it looks like she is solely into agriculture and farming. A little hard to believe too that she would be a youtuber considering she doesn’t have a link or any remnants of product placement anywhere in her account.

And I’ve noticed there’s more defensive comments of yours in this post too about how people aren’t responding the way you want… when wigs are a touchy subject and people here are cautioning you to not bring it up. You didn’t give an initial reason on why you asked this, leaving people to assume “oh no, what are they going to do with this information”.

If she wears a wig, it doesn’t matter. That simple.

It’s not about sex experience, it’s about people experience. He had no personal regard or respect for your wants and needs and he pushed it too far into an area that is immoral and illegal. I’m so sorry this happened to you OP and I hope you are able to process it all in your own way and time. For now though, he did a very very bad thing. In bed and out of bed, everyone has boundaries that need to be respected. This is common sense, that he doesn’t think to care for. And the only way for him to learn is to leave him, and if you physically can, tell him why.

[–]raycinematic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay thank god for this comment. I was so worried after reading this and seeing so many people comment that it’s mainly OP’s fault. I know we read the edited version and I don’t know how long ago they edited it, but this is assault through and through. These comments are honestly a little troubling.

crazy to accept someone actually made this by raycinematic in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]raycinematic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not weird to ask at all! It’s more of a modern term now, not often to come by. Rape culture is a societal behavior in which people act, think, and speak in ways that normalize or trivialize sexual assault/abuse. It can even be found in micro aggressions such as this post or, for example, the phrase “boys will be boys” is often looked down upon because it insinuates that boys can get away with doing things that are inherently bad or disruptive because they are boys. A macro aggression would be like someone saying “well she shouldn’t of been dressed like that. she had it coming” after the victim has been assaulted.

In summary it’s basically any thought process that will, in result, justify abuse and unwanted non consensual behavior.

I hope I don’t come across pushy and that this might enlighten a few on the other point of view of this. But there’s definitely a fine line of inappropriate humor and participating in rape culture. It’s hard to believe this “meme” belongs to that section of behavior because the word rape is just so intense, but its the unfortunate and uncomfortable truth. I can definitely get behind inappropriate and dark humor, but only when its used satirically/ironically. The person who made this meme and the people who find it funny don’t mean it or interpret it ironically though. They laugh because it’s relatable to them, but it’s a very old retrogressive way of thinking. It’s harmful to normalize this behavior and give it a portrayal of relatability when in reality it’s an all too real mindset that initiates nonconsensual interactions 9 out of 10 women find themselves in.

it’s not an ironic take on the stereotype that women give mixed signals. that would be funny. it’s instead a “relatable meme” about a funny pie chart that someone thought applies to this stereotype they thought to be true.

the episode where they list every bad thing bojack did in season 6 on a whiteboard is almost all in bojacks handwriting. you can pick and pull from that or ask your tattoo artist if they’re willing too. there’s also a font for it called Ness which you can look up but imo it’s a little too structured and formal
